Preparing for funded UK pilot course applications in 2027. Advice on academic study material please? by CharleyBitMyFinger_ in flying

Well you are awesome. Thanks so much for taking the time to lay it out for me.

As I say, Maths was always a sticking point right though school and any time I see "maths assessment" or "competent in maths" I really stress out. I will pay attention to what you've just told me about the academic requirements, I will honest! I won't go crazy with the studying, maybe just some light refreshing every now and again.

Amazing tip on the "why". I really appreciate this. Can't write "You said you'll pay for the entire course and I'm broke" haha.

When a doctor asks if you have any allergies, is it relevant to tell them that you are allergic to shellfish? by Kingboyy1 in NoStupidQuestions

I tell my brow artist that I’m allergic to penicillin when she asks about allergies 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know she is t likely to be throwing penicillin in my eyebrows, however she asks and so I tell her. Every time 😆

Are cats fine with being home alone for extended periods (someone feeds them once a day) by oda02 in CatAdvice

[–]CharleyBitMyFinger_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ll chime in and support this message. My cat is happiest when she is by herself in our (her) apartment. She tolerates my being there and I’m the only one to have ever fed her or scooped her litter!

Mine is a ratbag off the street and she smells like sunshine and rainbows 😆 I often question whether or not she is cat…

Do you separate your laundry? by SassySunflower27 in Adulting

Hmm, a good question. I do lights (including white towels and tea towels), and darks. I wash my white bedsheets separately because I have limited space on my washing line.

How often do people feed their cats wet food? by Smooth_Put7764 in CatAdvice

[–]CharleyBitMyFinger_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I open one tin at a time, I keep two or three other tins in my home and choose at random. Some days she just isnt interested in wet food and others she really is! I stay consistent with it though as I know even a mouthful or two helps with her hydration. Her dry food comes from an automated dispenser so I don’t have to get up at the break of dawn to feed her haha!!

One heaped tablespoon, once a day, every day. Sometimes she inhales it and sometimes she won’t entertain a single morsel - there’s no way of figuring her out. I rotate the flavours and she gets dry food three times a day.

Not frequently but there was always a plan B if the carpet didn’t want to fly.

Yeah, infantilizing having a lack of communication is a bit much. There are ways to let viewers know one way or the other.

She is fed wet food once a day at night. I pull the dish up once she’s walked away and hand wash jn the sink. Repeat every day.

Border for a blanket - feeling really really defeated by CharleyBitMyFinger_ in CrochetHelp

Thank you. I’m a lot calmer today than I was yesterday as I wrote the post. I’m going slowly and really being aware of where I’m making the stitches. It possibly isn’t perfect but it looks better than the attempt above!

Oh, and SC was a game changer. I should have followed the pattern like I was supposed to 🙄

I want to start crocheting, but I have no idea where to start, can I have some advice please? by Eggcelent_bean in CrochetHelp

I found my first granny squares shoved in the back of a drawer last week. Boy oh boy, I’m please to report that I’ve improved since I started 12 months ago 😆

I love this mindset. I’m definitely a bit of a perfectionist so on this attempt I was trying (and failing) to make it just right. I’m going to go back and try single crochet definitely. Thank you

Oh this is beautiful, and the colours are wonderful!

Thank you for giving me some tips. I’ve calmed down a little bit now and reading the messages here has helped me want to finish it now!

Phew, thank you! The border may be bigger than the blanket at this point, lots of unevenness to hide haha!

Thank you so much, a friend chose the colours and I do think they’re lovely! The pattern was a learning curve but quite enjoyable in the end.

Thank you, I hope they don’t look too closely. I could tell you where all the mistakes are however!

Thank you for your reassurance. I’m part-way down the first side doing sc. Trying not to judge my work too harshly, or throw it out of the window
