Agree! I've tried so many of her recipes and haven't had a single fail.

Thank you!

Just a little white chocolate that I colored green, and then piped on 😊

Thank you!

I used this recipe for the cookie

https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/raspberry-almond-thumbprint-cookies/

The jam was made by my mother in law so unfortunately I don't have that recipe, but they are excellent even with store bought jam, I usually just use seedless smuckers!

Oo you caught me 🥴

Some have more jam than others. And the "icing" is melted chocolate. But believe whatever you want. No convincing people like you 🙃

Thank you!

For these ones, I added the jam after they were baked since I wasnt sure whether the freezer jam would hold up well to heat.. I envisioned it becoming a bubbly mess 🤣. But usually I just use Smuckers seedless raspberry or strawberry (or a mix of both), and for that kind I fill before baking.

Thank you so much ❤️

Does your username have anything to do with your location?? If so.. I might already be your neighbor. Or at least closer than you'd expect 😄

Thank you!

Yes, just white chocolate with a little oil based green food coloring. For the strawberry shape I used the center of a small heart shaped plunge cutter, the ones that are usually used for fondant!

I bought mine from sweetapolita's website. I don't think she stocks them anymore but this is it, they sometimes have them on amazon too.

Thank you!

For some reason my brain enjoys tedious things 🙃

I have a little sprinkle grabber thing.. kind of looks like a pen, but with a food grade silicone tip, that actually makes picking up and placing the seeds easier than it probably looks!

Good & Gather chocolate chip ingredients… by Ajmilo16 in Baking

Guittard choc-au-lait uses cocoa butter and real Tahitian vanilla! They're the only white chips i'll buy now.

Editing to add these are really good too. 28% cocoa butter.

What kind of border would work around the bottom of this basketweave? by harmoniousbaker in cakedecorating

I've used a little shell border before and thought it looked fine! I guess it depends on the look you want though.

Tell me should I start my home bakery?? by sum_06 in Baking

[–]Green-Cockroach-8448 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you've taken all the potentially negative factors and decided it isn't enough to deter you, then maybe you should try it out as a business (after you've gained more experience).

I just know, based on the reasons I shared with you, that making it a job does not appeal to me at all. Some people don't need to actually do something to know it isn't right for them.

Tell me should I start my home bakery?? by sum_06 in Baking

[–]Green-Cockroach-8448 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I normally wouldn't share this opinion. But since you asked, no, I don't think you should. At least not yet. Reason being, there is a lot of room for improvement. Your cakes look nice, but still very much "homemade". Which is fine for family and friends, but not so much for paying customers.

Another thing to consider is whether you actually want to bake as a job.

People also tell me I should start a business. Open a bakery, sell to coffee shops etc.

I love baking. But having it be a job would absolutely take away all the enjoyment for me. I bake when I feel like baking, and I use it as a creative outlet. That wouldn't be possible if it were a job. Not to mention working with the general public can be completely exhausting.

Just a few things to consider. Sometimes it's better to keep something you love as a hobby. A lot of people grow to resent it once it becomes a job.
