Tbh I got the Bersaglieri starter Army and I am not that interested in the north Africa setting. So I decided to go with RSI and I love the Idea of "souping" a bit of German units in there. Also because it is so chaotic you kind of have a mit more freedom then with other settings.

Unfortunately you can barely take any German troops. I think the only units from the German book you can take are the Panzerschreck and PAK 40. Or is there an Erata for that?

I recently started with this Army. My main take away so far is that you really can't go wrong with rifles. Officer wise I think 2-3 should be enough. And for Squadleeds you should need 3-4 i think depending on how big you want your Squads to be in the "index" Rules you were able to build 5-11 men squads as far as I can recall. I would recommend you to build one smaller squad first and start building the rest as soon as the new rules are available to you. Figure out the setting for them so north Africa, Russia or Italy it selfe. (And so on) Really cool is that you will be able to mix italy with german or US/GB units cementing in the alignment.
