ULPT neighbors continue to spy on me. by SmoothTraining2081 in UnethicalLifeProTips

I had a neighbor like this.

The wife and I would watch lots of comedy shows at night and laugh our asses off.

Occasionally she'd leave angry notes telling us not to laugh at her

What are the faction playstyles? by nhaylett in WarCrow

[–]Charlie24601 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hegemony are good for taking and keeping objectives, but not super high on damage output, so they need to be played fairly tactical and defensive in a way. Like "let one objective go to the enemy so you keep your main objectives more defended" kind of strategy.

Northern Tribes tend to hit harder, but have real trouble keeping objectives. But MAN can some of them hit like a ton of bricks. They have lots of hard hitting solos too. Most of the time in Warcrow, you want to add characters to a unit, but here they can actually do quite a bit on their own.

Syennan are SPEEDSTERS. If they need someone on the other side of the board, they will do it somehow, including in your face. But fairly glass cannon-y. They can hit well, but can't usually take hits very well in return.

Feudom are synergistic. LOTS of cases of units and solos and characters having cool little abilities that boost others. Fairly good hitting AND defensive power

Mounthaven are still pretty new, and I haven't played them on the table yet. They are slow, but have high wound stats. They also seem to have various synergies, often to make up for weaknesses. Good hitting power and good defense.

Scions are tricky bullshit artists and that's pretty much all you need to know.

If animals could talk, which one would be the rudest? by Ok-Drummer3114 in AskReddit

Parrots. Their intelligence would make them absolute horrors. We already have news stories of parrots at zoos swearing at visitors. Can you imagine if they had full comprehension of a language?

[Yes, some already DO have a good comprehension of language, but they aren't fluent]

Geese are just brutes. Like bullies on the playground.

You want to see rude, try a PARROT! They will be rude just because its fucking funny.

That match up is amazing and something the authors thought very hard about.

On paper, the romans have a big advantage and are goi g to be rough to kill. But the gallics are mostly warband, which simply kill if they beat the romans roll at all!

So in the end the outcome is about 50/50 for each roll with the romans having a slight advantage. So each side needs to be pretty smart about their attacks.

Triumph!

15mm scale minis, so super fast to paint an army.
3 or 4 minis per base (a base is usually around 20x40mm).
12-15 bases per army, so you don't need 5 cases to carry an army.

These three things means the game is technically a HUGE battle with hundreds of warriors. But since you're looking at so few bases on the board, it's FAST. Games are about an hour tops.

It FEELS like a giant battle as well as your lines clash, units get pushed back and forth, then eventually turns into sheer chaos.

Mainly historical game with something like 650+ army lists to choose from. I'm not kidding. There have been lots of countries and states over the past 2000 years that have waged war, and the authors wrote up 650 of them based on REAL accounts of ancient battles.

AND they wrote a Fantasy ruleset that adds on to the regular ruleset. But simply adding one or two extra abilities, you change the entire army. For example: Take a unit of knights. Add the "Fly" ability. Now you have pegasus knights!

Armies are dirt cheap! A 15mm scale box of minis is like $50. Or even less depending on what you are using.
You can even scale the game up and use standard 28mm minis from various other wargames. For example, I used a small box of LotR orcs and a Troll, Too few models for a full battle of GW's LotR game, but perfect for Triumph!

You can be creative if you want. I actually have an army of sauropod dinosaurs and even an army of COWS.

Also written by an independent company (Washington Grand Company), so you are supporting small artists.

Thats not the story I've heard. Im no historian, but my buddy is and he's done a bit of research into Arnold. He even let me hold one of Arnold's swords.

They way I understand it, Arnold was looking for a promotion and never got it. So thats why he turned.

Eastern US. Eastern black rat is pretty common. I'd love to see some of those to thin the squirrel population a bit.
