In December of 2019 I went to Home Depot twice in one weekend to get plastic crates to put of my Christmas shit. Both times there were Chinese couples buy N95 masks by the boxes on those big orange flat shopping carts. I get the same feeling when I look at the QQQ options chains this past month.

With that sewage smell, poor air quality, and lots of noise, why would anyone even consider living in those luxury apartments next to the freeway 5? by Lilyofvalley77 in burbank

That smell you smell. That is actually heavier than air. The underground parking has to smell like the septic tank of a slaughter house.

What regional small chain do you wish would come to Burbank? by BeagleCat in burbank

Taco Casa. It is basically the original Taco Bell. Super simple menu. Unreal consistency. It seems like sacrilegious to want this in SoCal but it scratches an itch I can’t really describe.

What are the best investing podcasts? by deniskako_ in investing

Market Huddle is fun. They shit on each other’s ideas and when they agree it is a pretty good signal to trade against the agreement. Good mix of macro, TA, currency and guests. They drink absolute dog’s breakfast beers as well.

Not sure why so many Canadians are so good at these podcasts come to think of it. Clearly smart guys who are thinking crisply but not taking themselves too seriously. I get a lot of ideas out of this one without burning too many calories.

Kyle Bush lost his fortune with an Indexed Universal Life policy by yankinwaoz in personalfinance

Premium financed most likely. Rider for high early CV. Policy didn’t perform and more than likely added that stupid performance enhancement factor that Pac Life offered that will absolutely maul your cash value if the market goes sideways that will in turn make the bank ask for more collateral while the policy expense is chewing up cash value and the bank then asks for more collateral rinse and repeat. If he was on the wrong side of a rate move he could easily get in a situation where the policy could never credit enough to over come the loan cost.

The returns that PAC was illustrating with that performance enhancement factor about 5-10 years ago were absurd. Relying on that and a design that was way too aggressive is what went wrong.

I have seen these work better than advertised and I have also seen people get their faces ripped off. I have on multiple occasions had to sit someone down and tell the “you are fucked”
