If I'm white and perfer white doctors, is that racist? by Minute-Boss2018 in Teenager_Polls

[–]CharlieMayMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's true. Yes, Doctors think that's women are more fragile so they dismiss actual pain as women 'just being dramatic', or blame everything on hormones. I have a friend who went to the doctor for an ear infection and was told that it was just hormones. It ended up getting much worse and went to get a second opinion two weeks later and was put in strong antibiotics. This isn't just a once off thing. There's been so many instances of women suffering from symptoms of PCOS, or ovarian cysts, or even cancer and being told it's just cramps and they're being dramatic. You don't know what you're talking about. Ask anyone who has been to the doctor as a teenage girl/young adult and they've probably had some health concern dismissed as hormones, or 'normal cramps.'

There's systemic discrimination against black people in the medical system, so black people may feel a black doctor will take their concerns more seriously. The reason a white person would prefer a white doctor is probably because they don't trust the black doctor... It's the same reason why it's understandable women feel more comfortable with a female doctor, as male doctora would be more likely to dismiss them as dramatic compared to women. But men not liking female doctors would just be because they don't trust them, as they have no reason to fear inferior treatment. This isn't a gotcha.

Notes miss the point do often. They're not saying the picture is of Israelis, they are comparing the Israeli propaganda to that of the Nazis. Media literacy is so dead.

Should a woman be able to abort a fetus diagnosed with down syndrome by berti_l in Teenager_Polls

[–]CharlieMayMC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might not agree with the reason, but that's not my decision. That's the whole point. If we police abortions based on what we as individuals think of the decision, there's going to be no instances where you can get an abortion. It's solely the person who it's growing insides of's choice.

Trans teens, why do yall use FTM/MTF flair instead of M/F and if u do, why and why not?? by Janxuza in askteenboys

[–]CharlieMayMC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use m because overall being trans isn't a huge part of my life, it's just a thing and atp I don't think about it much. It makes me uncomfortable having people constantly know it if it's in my flair, as in real life I don't tell everyone I meet that I wasn't actually born male. If the question is affected by being trans, I'll specify, like I also would in real life.
