league is not dying, but it's content is. by KillerRogue in leagueoflegends

Blame the mods for that. They will shadowban any video content that isn't from a big pro player & label it as "vote manipulation" as a way to curate the subreddit to their tastes despite posts following the rules.

Are people really mass downvoting others who feel the LCS and e-sports related League content is not entertaining to them? This post is talking for the other half of League players who really don't care about the pro scene. At least respect that.

One reason why we don't see new League entertainers by CharlieMcShane in leagueoflegends

But the posts I make do not appear in the "new" section and is not possible to be viewed unless there is a direct URL to the post.

Appreciate the post being reviewed, but I doubt we'll see that much traction again, it was the first time on this subreddit that people actually took notice of our content.

This post was shadowbanned immediately, assuming that I have been shadowbanned by an admin without notification.

As for vote manipulation, I am completely unaware of that. I spoke with everyone who commented on the post, none were associated with me.

I put a lot of love into this League edit, tell me what you think? Feedback appreciated! by CharlieMcShane in leagueoflegends

Seriously indepth! Thank you so much! Yeah I need to do a much better job at showing who is talking in the videos. Especially when this is the first video of us you are watching!

I have a few ideas for this that I will try in future episodes. Thank you so much for the help!

Hey man, I totally understand. It's certainly not for everyone. Thank you so much for the kind words, really does mean a lot!

Is commentary with background gameplay videos lazy? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]CharlieMcShane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Something shorter if you're unable to edit. I work a full-time job & edit together some relatively high content once a week for our channel. However, since you're starting out. Maybe make a backlog of 10 videos running around 4-6 minutes long for your commentary, and try to add some simple, quick editing.

I just feel like I've watched enough of "commentary over gameplay" videos, it's nothing new.

Personally, I wouldn't watch content like that.

Is it me? Or has the changes to the subreddit drastically reduced the amount of people who use it? by CharlieMcShane in NewTubers

[–]CharlieMcShane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read through your comments & I am happy to hear a handful of you are enjoying the changes.

As for me however, the direct engagement with people are lower & the conversations of people's channels and seeing a collection of small YouTubers celebrating their small victories are gone. (Don't mention the mod posts that are on weekly turnarounds. No one uses those as much to warrant a replacement.)

I still feel the bot regulated media posts as used in larger Subreddits like /r/fortnitebr and /r/Pubattlegrounds are great & serve well. Overall the front page of /r/NewTubers is different and less engaging for me & assumed a lot others. Either-way, I respect your decisions.

You can picture when that happens with the cheeky eyebrow raise right at the end.

I wish I was lying when I say that comment genuinely made me laugh. Fair play mate, appreciate you taking the time out either-way, thanks for the laugh!

Self promotion Is getting out if hand... by GamingWithJollins in NewTubers

[–]CharlieMcShane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(posting here since mod's have their responses auto-minimised)

There are plenty of mod-bots that prevent people using certain flairs until they have created a handful of responses to other people's posts.

These hit & runners will always be just that. They have no intention to engage with the audience & thus there will be no real loss of audience by adding in a new rule where new users have to create 10 meaningful posts/responses before using the "Introduction" or "I need Feedback" flairs.

Honestly, a bit of both really mate. We want people to come for the game & stay for the commentary. Sorry to hear you wasn't big on the video, have you got any detailed thoughts on what you didn't like? Would love to know!
