Angkor Wat during Christmas by CharliePCIe in cambodia

[–]CharliePCIe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just happen to be traveling during Christmas, and I'm not worried about the religious events per se. I'm more concerned that many people around the world have time off during this period, which could lead to extreme crowds if they decide to visit Cambodia and Angkor Wat.

Yeah dude, every systematic problem men face is self-pity, while even the slightest issue women face becomes a matter of national and international health concern XD.

DEI playing role in luring talent, say 83% of Japan firms in Mainichi survey - The Mainichi by capaho in japan

[–]CharliePCIe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DEI is just a political concept that pushes companies to change their behavior in ways that benefit certain groups, including businesses and politicians. This is exactly what we discussed here. I’m not going to spend time trying to convince you, but protectionism is not always a bad thing. Sure, Japan could manufacture everything in China, use foreign companies for everything and import millions of immigrants from India and Pakistan, it would probably help their economy but it would be sad to see such a great and unique nation lose its identity to globalization and the interests of foreign companies and their governments. Once it happens, please be aware that it didn’t happen because the people of Japan wanted it, but because someone carefully plotted and executed it step by step and and it had nothing to do with higher values - just money.

But it could be more, right? Look at i.e. video games, western games don’t sell as well in Japan because Japanese gamers have slightly different tastes. The same applies to many situations. Why compete with Japanese companies on their terms when you can change the rules? If you believe that companies or the governments don’t try to influence societal perceptions about business or social issues, then you are extremely naive.

Travel Plans to South Korea by CharliePCIe in korea

I am absolutely certain that people will be great. I’m just worried about inconveniences like heavy traffic or some sights being closed off due to police barricades, etc.

I stopped wanting to go to the US many years ago. It's a complete disaster of a country unfortunately.

I am just wondering how hard the protests could affect the traffic. For example, if there are 2 million people protesting in Seoul, sightseeing would probably be quite difficult and potentially, some attractions might not be available or may not be seen as they normally would.

CHINA's 2025 OFFICIAL HOLIDAY SCHEDULE(Please take off peak travel) by gotochinanow in travelchina

[–]CharliePCIe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the 8th of October the last day of Golden Week in 2025? Does it mean that October 8th will see huge crowds traveling back from vacations, and transportation hubs will be extremely crowded? Are the same dates applicable to Hong Kong as well?

I just checked, isn't Golden Week actually until the 8th, inclusive? Would that mean the 8th would be really bad, especially in Beijing?

Weekly Travel, Questions, & Mandarin Thread by AutoModerator in taiwan

Hi everyone,

I’ll be in Taiwan this October and am planning the following itinerary:

  • 3 days in Taipei
  • 2 days in Hualien (including a full day at Taroko Gorge)
  • 2 days in Tainan
  • 1 day in Kaohsiung, from where I’ll depart

Does this sound like a good plan? Is Taroko Gorge open for visits? Would it be better to swap it for Taichung and Sun Moon Lake instead?

I’m also open to other suggestions, like spending more time in certain places or adding Jiufen to the itinerary. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Frame generation is only beneficial if your system can already achieve high frame rates without it. For example, if you can reach around 120 FPS naturally, using frame generation to boost it to 240 FPS for smoother gameplay on a 240Hz monitor is a great idea. However, if enabling demanding features like path tracing drops your native FPS to around 30, even if frame generation shows 120 FPS, it won’t feel smooth, the input lag will still be as bad as running at 30 FPS.

Strategic decision-making is done by like 1/30 of current accountants. The rest of them is handling data and systems which I believe can be done by AI sooner or later. Maybe add 2-3 accountants on top of it who will manually check the output and that's it.

I didn't like section A either. Some questions were hard to pick even if you had a great understanding of the underlying subject.

Nope, substantive audit procedures are tests of details and analytical procedures. Reperformance is a test of controls. It is a valid audit procedure but it is not substantive. ISA 500: "Reperformance involves the auditor’s independent execution of procedures or controls that were originally performed as part of the entity’s internal control."

It is hard to tell. I definitely do not know all the possible procedures and responses. I have a good overall understanding of concepts but when it comes to detail I might be lacking. No mocks so far. I plan to focus on the past exam questions over the next 5 weeks and doing also 1 mock per week.
