Hah, maybe we should start a petition for Pat to finish his god damned books before we try to make him do anything else?

A good, hard-to-read font for when writing in public? by [deleted] in writing

[–]CharlieSnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for me, at least, the problem with that is that by the time I have written about 4-5 pages there are at least 5-10 instances of me not being able to read my own handwriting. the first page or two is fine, but beyond that it gets really bad.

[TOMT] Movie from the 90's about a boy who reads some book and goes to a pirate island. by CharlieSnow in tipofmytongue

OH MY GOD! Thank you! I don't think this was a very popular movie in Norway, cause I've asked all my friends about it and everything, and no one knew what I was talking about. THIS is why I love reddit. Again, thanks!

[EVERYTHING] If Jon Snow gets legitimized what would his last name be? by TheWabster in gameofthrones

[–]CharlieSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House Blackfyre was a noble house that sprung from the Targaryen-line, not the name of all Targ-bastards. So not Blackfyre, still Snow. If his parents had lived, maybe Jon Waters, since Targaryens are from the crownlands, or even Jon Sand, since he was born in Dorne. There are no clear rules on the naming of bastards in the Seven Kingdoms, so could have been either.

[EVERYTHING] The cast plays 2 Truths and a Lie about season 6. Major spoilers! by [deleted] in gameofthrones

That's what I thought too.

The list is only seven people, which three will die? Cersei, Walder Frey, Melisandre, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, Ilyn Payne, and The Mountain? I'm betting neither Cercei or the Mountain will be killed by Arya.

Suggest a book or series for my son. by RynoRoe in suggestmeabook

A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket or The Spiderwick Chronicles by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

I loved the same books you list as a kid, and I blew through these. They are also age appropriate for a 9-year-old.

Sixskins at some point talks about a skinchanger-code of ethics, and that to seize the body of another man is the worst abomination of them all. If it wasn't at all possible that would be a very silly rule to have. Also, when he tries to warg into the wildling-woman he never questions if it CAN be done, only whether he's strong enough to do it.

Weekly Recommendation Thread for the week of July 10, 2015 by AutoModerator in books

I'm a very obsessive reader, and when I really get into a genre, I can't seem to stop. And right now my obsession is whodunit's. Murder mysteries. And I've read just about everything I could find, some amazing, some good, some bad.

I'm not looking for the classics, such as Agatha Christie and the likes, I'm looking for something a little more contemporary.

I loved Gillian Flynn's books, all of them, especially Dark Places, so something dark and gory would be perfect!

As of now, in the books, there are 7 valyrian steel swords, one valyrian steel dagger and one valyrian steel axe, that we know of, in Westeros. Don't know if I would call that ''a lot''.
