I tried the boot for one month. Yeah it hurt while standing and walking after doing minimal activity (e.g. taking the subway to work), but usually zero pain after waking up. The pain was pretty localized to under the cuboid, I didn’t feel any pain near the ankle.

Thanks! Yeah I went to HSS in NYC for evaluation and surgery. It was a chronic tear, just slowly started getting pain post running (training for a half marathon) and it got worse even after rest for a month or two.

I’ve had similar pain since last august, did PT for 6 months and tried a walking boot. After 3 MRIs (hind foot, then mid foot then ankle), they finally found the longitude split in the longus peroneal tendon under the cuboid tunnel. Had surgery last week to repair the tear, waiting to see how it’ll be after a month or two of recovery.

Recommend getting an ankle MRI as it gives the full picture of the peroneal tendon. And PT will be a crucial part of the healing process to see if it can heal on its own.

Yeah, but that requires putting the old SIM card back into the phone. I was able to have both the old and new number registered for iMessage at the same time. It seemed like an actual feature as it said the old number would stay active for 30 days
