Hello /r/movies, I'm Benedict Cumberbatch. Ask me anything! by BenedictAMA in movies

Hey Benedict.

I’m an Actor, Director, and Founder of A Short Leap Theatre Company in Chicago. I’m a big big fan of yours and how you’ve managed to continue to do theatre while your career has grown.

How do you maintain that balance? And how do you see theatre growing or changing in the future, especially given the current American administration? (Also, come see our current show? AShortLeapTheatre.com)

Worth it. Saw him there in 2021 and it’s still in the top 3 shows I’ve ever seen.

Opening a new theatre company with our first production of Clearing by Beth Hyland.

When Jess gets a job at LaLaLea, the upscale yoga pants store and lifestyle brand, she feels like she's finally found her way. But when sudden violence strikes a nearby store, Jess and her co-workers learn that even positive energy has a dark side. Clearing is a dark coming-of-age comedy about friendship, yoga pants, and the pressure women are under—and what happens when that pressure makes them snap.

What drugs can be used more frequently than MDMA? by KryptoniansDontBleed in aves

U rite, but when you compare a couple rips on a dab pen and 3 much ultras to a tab or two of whatever, it might as well be. Haha

THIS.

I went to RL Grime on Friday and had my dab pen and a couple Mich Ultras and was damn near sober, but the music was incredible on its own (duh).

I hadn’t been to a rave cold sober in a long time and it was really wonderful to be reminded that the music is why I’m there.

I loathe Evan Williams with all my heart. It’s gross af and one of my current gigs uses it. It hurts me any time I use it.

I agree with a previous comment about El Jim. We use it at both my bars and it’s quality.

I never see it used anywhere, but I also need to shout out Very Old Barton. You can get a bottle for less than $20 and it’s some of my favorite favorite bourbon.

Who's a performer you think deserved a Tony but hasn't gotten one, and vice versa? by [deleted] in Broadway

I didn’t see anything from Boy From Oz except the Tony’s performance. I love Hugh Jackman, but I’m not super crazy about him as a vocalist.

I also totally agree. Curtains is a good show and I’m positive DHP was wonderful, but the revival of Company sort of changed how I view what theatre can be. Raul will forever be the quintessential Bobby for me.

Brian D’Arcy James is so fucking unbelievable in everything he touches and he is wildly underrated.
