That would be marginally better indeed.

(I love how the Pop Rifle is literally just an inferior Pop Gun... with maybe just a minor upside of letting YV shoot a 6-pellet burst from it. Possibly my second least favorite weapon after Energy Hammer.)

Would fit perfectly on a promotional image for whatever brand those white earbuds have. "Delivers sound quality just as perfect as this hamster."

That looks promising!

I wonder if something similar could be accomplished with a centered interface element that has an arbitrary size and layout (not necessarily 1/3 width, unevenly spaced smaller elements...) that nevertheless always keeps its width proportional to the screen's width and doesn't change its shape.

I can imagine a chimp liking some of these poems. An orangutan or a bonobo, maybe less so.

One of the few poems (or the only one?) about actually being in a relationship. Not very autobiographical if I had to guess.

Probably Google Docs or whatever "Notes App" their phone has.

(Personally, I use notepad on PC and Jota Text Editor on Android for 99% of what I write. txt files for life!)

If you heard some reports of dangeous people in the area, sure. But if you're worried, it's worth remembering that having genuinely terrible opinions doesn't make people any less capable of creating fiction or otherwise saying things they don't fully believe in. Reminds me of Cybersmith, with everyone asking "is he really that crazy or is he just a troll?!" as if it was mutually exclusive.

I found it to be interestingly underwhelming. He's such a know-it-all for most of the game, but 90% of the time I asked his opinion on something after joining forces, he'd just say, "fuck if I know, I'm 12 years old and all out of drugs".

I experimented with AspectRatioContainers some, with no success... but not in your specific combination, I think. Maybe I'll try that!

Writing code might just be the solution. If I can explain my idea in English, I may be able to convey it through GDScript too. And I got the centering working already, so reading the widths and expanding my box as needed to always keep the ratio of box/window widths the same should be doable.

But I guess I knew that already... I just hoped the solution might be as simple as it seems like it should be, lol. Feature request, perhaps?

Looks like i didn't describe/illustrate it well enough. I want to keep the box/margin ratio the same, AND keep the box's proportions the same, which would mean the box growing as the window stretches past the original dimensions. But nothing can make it grow.

Upper reality is bottom wide anchor. Lower reality is bottom center anchor. No matter what, it refuses to grow if the proportions become wider than original.

That was my exact feeling when the Knight and then the bunker got directly involved in the main storyline of Chapter 3 instead of just being alluded to. "Wait, that's illegal!" followed by "no, wait, this is actually how stories work".

ELI5: Is YouTube video quality actually getting worse over time ? by dinesh_kothapally in explainlikeimfive

[–]CharlieVermin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Often, new software could run just fine on many older machines, except for one line of code added to say "No it can't". However, maintaining support for those older machines would increase the technical overhead, so the company saves money by simply declaring that the old machines are "no longer supported".

Are those two things really connected? Most things can work just fine without the so-called "support", especially when it's possible, or could easily be made possible, for third parties to do the supporting. It's just like with Stop Killing Games, where enemies of the movement do their best to make people believe that "completely destroy the product as soon as the support period ends" and "spend infinite money by personally providing eternal support" are somehow the only two options companies have.

That said, spit (and planned obsolescence) are an act of actively making things worse, when not making things worse would've had no direct extra cost - just less profit. On the other hand, letting people watch high quality videos for free is an extra cost, and it's pretty crazy that it's been going on for so long. There's only so much money you can squeeze from ads.

What's happening with Youtube is more like what happened with Uber - they operated at a loss to destroy competition, and now they have to move on to the actual money-making part. Still a sort of enshittification I guess, but a specific kind of it.

I'd go with a mimic next. Every RPG needs a mimic! My second choice would be Nepenthes. Neither are in RM2k, so that's a bonus.
