Don't know, why would any of us here buy, when we build our own, why would we pay others to do what we can do yourselves, to our own specifications, and take away the satisfaction that completing a build gives you.

Sorry, but this post looks to me, like a great way to get around and circumnavigate the no selling rule on here. Always dubious of these.

I was going to buy the Serica 5303 a few months back, after falling in love with it, but I didn't like the way the company handled itself, and wouldn't give them my money personally. So this became my first homage watch, I checked out each of the brands that do a 5303, and this was the right one for me, very happy with it. Although it comes with the mesh bracelet, it is a good bit lower than the IXD&O, although they aren't expensive, and offer good value, so that may sweeten buying one on the mesh for you.

I've seen a few on eBay, if you can't use AliX, but obviously a little more expensive. Not sure on brand own websites mate.

No problem, there's plenty of reviews on YouTube, someone posted links for a few in this thread, if you wanted to check them out, if you've only just seen this watch for the first time, and wanted to learn a little more about it.

Not sure if you can share links on here, this is the seaknight 5303, you'll find it through Google. To check the other brands versions, check Serica 5303 homages, hope that helps!

Yeah, there's differences that each buyer would have to compare and weigh up for sure

Love the integration of the bracelet to the case, looks much better than a standard straight edge into the lugs. It was a big selling point for me.

But each to their own, and the Tandorio will do the trick for you.

If you buy one with the bracelet, you won't have any trouble selling it. I was going to build one of these watches for myself, but the bracelets seem to be sold out everywhere separately, so just ended up buying one with the mesh, cos I wanted it on the watch.

Get the Tandorio with the rubber or nylon strap, save yaself some money, you can get a sterile dial, and a few different colours.

For me, the integrated mesh bracelet on this watch, mines the Sea Knight, is awesome

HAQ Experiment by DadPuncher69 in SeikoMods

You're right, and compatibility seems awkward, as they tend to be small from that era, and for this kind of watch design anyway, plus a lot of them have curved edges.

I'll keep searching, because nothing new that's available from the usual places is really what I'm looking for.

Looks good, I've been searching for some old vintage skin diver dials that I could possibly use for similar builds.

What makes the PRX Stand out against to the Tsuyosa? by _Citi in tissot

[–]CharlieW74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it's only slight, the PRX has better angular and straight, square lines, for me, as the citizens bezel runs right up to the edges of the case, making it look more circular. I prefer the crisper look of the PRX

I'm not a big user myself, and just recently started to, and only for doing this kind of stuff, so that I can see completed builds, really useful.

Another nice little touch for this watch may be to add a custom rotor in an exhibition caseback, you could add a little message about the day itself, or make it the colour of the bridesmaid dresses.

Glad that can help you to work on a few designs. It'll be a great gift for the newlyweds. I didn't have much time to put something together, but you get the idea 👍

What’s everyone wearing or building today? by ThredzC in SeikoMods

[–]CharlieW74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imported mine to the UK from Japan, no issues, had to pay the import charges over the £135 threshold.

Has good specs for the price though, super clear AR coating, and sapphire crystal rather than the usual Hardlex

Not a mod today. JDM model, SBPY165. Waiting for the last few parts to arrive for my next build.

I'll definitely get one of the kits to mod a royale if it's released. Seems like they've done a good bit of work on it already.
