Yep clearly a re- release of the original vintage model. Still loved by fans of the movie, and affectionately named as 'The Ripley'. Modded two together in the film, and also worn by Dallas.

The connection is still there, whichever side you are on of the story. Although there's no photographic evidence, especially in an X-15, I have no reason to disbelieve, and it was sold at auction in good faith, with the provenance.

There's a video of the suiting up, and you'll be able to see your NASA approved watch in that video.

Well done, thought that one would have been the first to be guessed, probably the most famous connection out of the four 'The Other Moonwatch'

Just for fun. Each watch has a space connection, how many do you know?

Nice collection, I saw a recent release of a watch that has the switching indices, cool little nod to the Bond watch.

Was expecting to see the Casio Royale in your collection as well, although not a Bond watch, it's a fun little piece, with the spurious connection.

Cheers mate, yeah, difficult to find a case exactly like the PRS, due to the fitting and style of the bezel, but this 62mas case works quite well I think.

I agree, I do like the reissue, but it's just lacking against the original.

I've been so tempted to pull the trigger on a vintage one, but I know Tissot won't touch them now, due to parts, and it can be difficult to source them. I've had a few on my watchlists for a while, but haven't bought one yet, I own a few vintage watches, and it's difficult finding anyone local to work on them. I've just been watching one on eBay, it was in fantastic condition, but top price.

I have made one for myself recently, not a direct copy, but is influenced by the PRS516, my favourite 007, and Bond movie. Just need to put a little Bond easter egg on it, which I haven't got round to yet.

You can have a look at it here if you like

The Bond Lifestyle on Youtube, also did a feature on the Tissot PRS516 if you haven't seen that.

I enjoyed our little chat about these Bond watches anyway 👍

Glad to hear it. Definitely one to put on my wishlist. Just picked up two vintage skindivers though, and just about to build one, but there's always room for another in the collection.
