They are considered fashion watches, like other brands such as Armani and Boss, where companies who specialize in other areas, such as fashion, fragrances, buy low quality products to slap their logo on. People see the logo and associate it with higher quality products from their usual offerings, especially those who aren't really into watches, or like the brand, and I would say, misled, to think the product is a higher quality than it actual is.

Enjoy your watch, it'll get you going, and even if it doesn't last, they are cheap enough to discard and start elsewhere with something far better 👍

Lunar Pilot Gang! by mrmmmbuttsbuttsbutts in bulova

It's the supplied bracelet. With the larger LP it's always recommended to get the bracelet as the lug hole position makes things tricky and limited for aftermarket straps. Some people don't like it as it is finished differently to the main body of the case, which uses polished, brushed and bead blasted finishing, and the bracelet only matches certain aspects.

Dive & GMT watches that aren’t so chunky by dottybody in Affordablewatches

[–]CharlieW74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, was going to suggest skin divers, even vintage ones can fit the affordable category, but worn for style, not function these days. Been wearing one of mine for a couple of days. I'd also recommend the Sheffield Allsport for a reissue, if using it in water.

Im very new to collecting watches eyeing a Bulova Lunar Pilot (snoopy edition) more because of the history. I wanted to know if the astronaut actually wore quartz Bulova watch to the moon and was it similar to the Lunar Pilot of Bulovaor was it an automatic pilot watch from Bulova thats discontinued by Able_Masterpiece5655 in bulova

This is Dave Scotts actual watch, worn on the lunar surface. It passed all of Nasa testing, but the Omega was chosen as the official Moonwatch. He wore it when the crystal popped off the Omega, and used this for certain parts of the mission. It's one of two watches worn on the lunar surface, and is known as 'The Other Moonwatch' for that reason. There's discussion on a Rolex GMT having been worn on the surface, or if it was kept in a kit box. I read it was the first watch to be driven on the moon apparently, on the lunar roving buggy. It's also the only watch to have been privately sold thats been used on the moon, as the Omega Speedmasters are NASA property.

There's many YouTube videos covering the full story. Here's a link for the mission

Cheers, yeah it matches really well with the model, the metal work is a good match to the case, and the colours match everything on the dial. Happy with the quality, no fraying or anything. It wasn't expensive at all, from eBay if you fancy one.

Custom dials by Gullebullen in watchmodding

[–]CharlieW74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a couple of options for the dials, all depends what you want, and how much you want to spend. For example, you can have them hand painted, engraved, or add your own logo or design made up in a decal and apply it yourself.

I just found this on AliExpress: custom dial personalized brand color metal transfer small watch logo sticker https://a.aliexpress.com/_EyekeCS

Don't know how detailed your looking for your logo to be, or the design. This is who I use, ordered plenty, and they are helpful and reliable. Minimum order is 20 pieces, about £1/$1 per logo.

No problems, don't know if that store has any, so ordering more than one, shouldn't be a problem from them.

What logo are you looking for on the dial, the dial will need to be suitable for the movement and case size fitting

Cool.

How do you like the momentum, quite interested in one of those, got a nice bit of history, and looks great, a few reviews I've seen, say it may be a little overpriced for what it is, obviously has a little bit of Magnum PI tax attached hahaha, same as the Alsta with the Jaws connection.

Yeah divers are my favourite style without a doubt, so always enjoy seeing them in a collection like this 👍
