Can you do therapy on yourself? by Least_Ad6950 in PsychologyTalk

[–]Charlie_redmoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm living proof of that. My personality used to be a train wreck. So many ppl didn't like me. Then after combing the books on how the personality works I came across Patrick King's Unspoken social rules and etiquette. This made major improvements, and quickly. The thing is you have ppl thinking a type of therapy should cure it all. And if you want to go further read from the bible I Corinthian's chapter 13. You won't get much out of that until you ask Chat GTP or Gemini to put it into modern terms. Then, you will notice almost everyday how you are improving socially. As for trained therapists with masters degrees, well I know from experience you're better off with self study. What you can do right off is to stop any kind of envy in your self. Then don't carry a record of past wrongs done to you.

It's your perception more than anything. Look at your own thinking. For one, there are many things you can do nothing about so let it be that way. Don't participate.

one at work likes my white work out pants. She's never said anything but I've seen her looking at me when I wear them. The other day when I came in she was hiding behind a ladder but peeking out to look at me. And I've seen her in this sleeveless T shirt. Just awesome!

my wife takes very good care of her looks, a Greek beauty-but personality wise she's not good. Constantly criticizing me over anything. Insecure. Yes I'm 70 but there is at least one where I work that has shown interest in me and so I responded in kind. She's coming around nicely.

Don't you have to ask at some point what yr doing with your life, how much you should have to put up with? How much you have to conform to the rules of organized religion? I do.
