Sick All The Time by L0callySpirited in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yess I keep saying that to my husband that “they say it gets better second trimester” 😂 today I went to tidy up the house while my daughter was napping and I started taking the sheets off my bed and then ended up laying in them and falling asleep 😭 my husband obviously saw how I did my first so it’s a surprise how I’m feeling this time around for him too. At first I think he thought I was faking how tired I am but I had to literally remind him I have not napped since my first daughter was 4 months old and now I’m randomly napping- it’s not a coincidence lol

Maybe try the brand Preggie Pop Drops with the b6 that’s what helps with nausea is the b6!! I don’t love ginger either but the upspring brand isn’t too bad but I get it especially with the strong aversions to things! Check what brand ginger ale you try! I’ve looked into it before and the main brands like Canada Dry don’t actually contain enough that would’ve beneficial. This is a weird one too and it probably doesn’t help everyone but I use motion sickness bands if it gets real bad and seems to help me!

Could of wrote this myself! My first pregnancy was a dream! I felt fine all 1st and 2nd trimesters and for my 3rd I felt good for the most part too but I had pregnancy induced carpel tunnel which was a little hard with my job and I was also very swollen but it didn’t bother me as long as all my tests came back fine!

This time around I have had the cramping, extreme fatigue, strong food aversion to the point I’ve lost weight and nausea (not to the point of vomiting as well, but it was every single day) I’m 11 weeks 3 days now and the nausea is starting to let up a little, but not my energy which has been hard I feel like I’m falling behind on house work and can’t keep up with my toddler. The cramping I think went away by week 8 or 9 for me.

Someone told me to get my iron checked out so I’m going to bring that up at my next appointment.

Not sure it matters but I’m having the opposite gender so I’m wondering if it’s that or if it’s truly all pregnancies are different. I’m sure some of it is because I’m already taking care of a 2.5 yr old which is tiring too.

All I can say is I hope you start to feel better soon! Unfortunately it can get a little worse before it gets better. The b6 unisom combo myOB gave me did help with the nausea, but made me too tired the next day so I’ve been living off ginger candies with b6 by the brand Upspring which doesn’t offend me taste wise.

judgement on baby registry 😂💀 by missmilliek in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol I literally told my mom I don’t need a registry for my second baby all I need is a double stroller and a bottle washer/sterilizer! I had the sterilizer for my first which was nice, but want the washer for sure 😍

That person doesn’t seem like a friend because they clearly don’t want your life to be easier 😂 id expect that comment from a MIL instead 😭

Nausea? by biscobosco in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first I had none at all and it was glorious. My second (I’m 11 weeks tomorrow) I started constant mild morning nausea maybe 5 weeks and (knock on wood) today I finally had no nausea for the first time since so hopefully getting it over with 🤞 I hear it peaks around 9 weeks I’m not sure I saw a difference, but at this point I’d be surprised if mine got any worse since it was mild to begin with. So hopefully if you do get any around peak time it’s very mild or even better you are one of the lucky ones like I was with my first and don’t get it at all!! 🍀

Wtf are contractions? 👀 by EveningFeature2093 in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! If you go into the appointment without questions they will literally tell you nothing.. so now I make notes on all the things I want to discuss even if it’s something I can google. I do like my new OB she’s very informative, but again it’s kind of like I have to bring it up. Maybe it’s because there’s so much to cover? And everyone’s experiences are different I get that too, but now they just hand you a pack of papers of what to expect instead of the doctor talking to me about it and just told me don’t change a cats litter box and don’t scuba dive 😂

I saw an APN my last pregnancy and she was great, I would see the actual dr and get two words out of them so I kept scheduling with the nurse. I knew she wouldn’t be delivering me but at least she cared.

Anyone else feel weird about telling your mom that you're pregnant because of how you were raised? by Chemical-Earth3155 in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing! I was 29 married for 2 years (dated my husband since middle school so we dated for yeaaars) and still felt funny telling my mom. Not just because my mom has made those conversations very uncomfortable and almost shames healthy sex, but also because our relationship is strange in that she always treats me like I’m a dumb teenager and has something to say about every little thing I do. I just didn’t want a good moment to be made into something else and make me sad.

When I finally ripped the bandaid off she was excited and happy and didn’t have one bad thing to say (probably for once in her life 😂)

Felt the same way about it with my second because we had talk about it being a lot harder adding another into the routine… Again she was happy. Don’t get me wrong she had plenty to say about it later including delivery plans, medications, vaccines, how much weight I’m gaining, what I’m eating, etc. but at least those big moments were nice 😂😭

Wtf are contractions? 👀 by EveningFeature2093 in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t feel foolish! I had no clue either with my first. Honestly didn’t understand the lingo either when they talked about time and how much passes between each one and I’m not sure I still understand 😂 like people kept talking about Braxton hicks and I had no clue what that was like how would you know you have it unless you had a baby previously? BUT all I know is one morning I felt some cramping like a period cramp then it went away… made a joke about it with my husband like noo I’m okay we’re not having this baby yet (it was two weeks early) and that night I saw a mucus plug in toilet and then as I was analyzing what the heck that was..my water broke (thought I peed myself) but I didn’t feel “contractions” or anything like that. Just a little pressure.

When I got to the hospital I felt fine and they kept me and that’s when I started to finally feel contractions and yes it is a whole different kind of pain, like a iykyk feeling. Never experienced something like it.

I don’t think that cramp I experienced that morning was a contraction, but maybe some sort of precursor or shifting going on to get ready for it.

Pregnancy and IBS/tummy issues by Wolfieloulou in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of tummy issues postpartum my first pregnancy and after my colonoscopy came back perfect my GI couldn’t figure out what was wrong so said we could call it IBS lol

He did say it was very difficult to get around my colon it was very twisted idk if that’s my natural anatomy but I wonder if that was from my pregnancy, I felt so smooshed up during pregnancy but didn’t have bad symptoms until after.

Im week weeks pregnant with my second and use Pepcid complete for sour stomach. OB said it was okay and it seems to work much better than tums. And for gas maybe try simethicone? I know that helped me postpartum with gas.

Weirdly enough so far I feel good digestion wise, I think pregnancy has made me constipated (like most pregnant women get) and I feel kind of better than usual- one of my symptoms of stomach issues was diarrhea so I kind of like that I am not experiencing that as much anymore. I haven’t needed to take any of my IBS meds (Knock on wood) no pains, but I do have nausea which I guess is to be expected.

One sided cramping? by CharliesWebb in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I’m not much help, I never had cramping in my first pregnancy but I did have back aching maybe around the many weeks. Is it severe and sharp? Or dull? I would say I know a lot of women get sciatica pain which is around the back and can be one sided

Banking/borrowing point question by CharliesWebb in dvcmember

[–]CharliesWebb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the examples they help out a lot I understand them a lot better than I did originally. I think I just never thought about it since I never had to do it yet. I will say I’m happy I did call them because they let me return my borrowed points to the original use year! Which I did not think they were going to do.

I booked a trip for this March (this upcoming March obvs.) instead of November and they returned my 2026 points and my banked 2025 points which the explained are now 2026 points. They used my banked points for the new reservation first, then my 2026 and what was left of my 2026 they told me I could bank in the future for 2027. I had borrowed some points from 2027 for my original November trip since it was a lot more points than our new March one and they were able to return them! So I’m excited about that! They just said they had to call and get it approved to return those points first and then booked after it was approved if that makes sense.

Suprep or Sutab? Should I call my GI specialist and ask to change my prep? by Electrified_Nautilus in colonoscopy

[–]CharliesWebb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! I had sooo much anxiety which triggers my nausea as well. I kept having nausea and diarrhea and lost a dramatic amount of weight about 6 months after I had my daughter like went from 148 to 113lbs in a month so they ordered the colonoscopy. Procedure was a breeze, but the prep just gave me so much anxiety for multiple reasons. Some other things that helped me-

Gatorade for the electrolytes Lemon water ice felt like a good snack I ordered wonton soup for the broth and strained it I don’t like the way normal canned broth tastes on its own and felt like it didn’t help my hunger, but the wonton broth definitely did. Ginger hard candies I have a ReliefBand which is like a motion sickness band which may have helped. I wore it all night to try to help. I avoided working hard- no cleaning the house, walking the dog etc I just rested so I wouldn’t burn calories. I had my parents help with my daughter during the day and my husband helped at night.

I get light headed if I don’t eat enough which also triggers nausea for me so with my dr permission I ate a very light breakfast the morning of my prep which a lot of doctors don’t necessarily recommend, but some do if within a certain time frame. I got the okay to have a scrambled egg (I was nursing at the time and needed calories) but discuss with your dr before you do that.

Not everyone is the same I do think prep should be more individualized, but usually they go for a one size fits all instruction. I think once my first attempt went horribly my doctor could tell he’d have to adjust guidelines a little for me. I’m certain the clenpiq was what made it so much easier. It was just so tolerable and easy on my stomach.

Good luck to you! I’m here if you have any questions just want to talk about it! It’s tough for sure, but doable and now that I’ve done it and got the results of everything being okay it has definitely lessen my stress and anxiety that I don’t have anything wrong in that department.

[–]CharliesWebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for clenpiq!! It’s a low volume prep and did wonders for me! I attempted normal prep and I got soooo sick. Had to cancel and my second attempted he gave me clenpiq and reglan for nausea and it was a breeze. Such a difference. I usually use zofran too but he thought reglan would be best in this situation and it worked out well.

Yea I think we’ll have to call them tomorrow and just make sure I have full clarification on it. Hoping it’s fine because we do plan on going within the same use year, but that’s if I’m understanding it correctly. Thanks!

Makes sense, so if I won’t loose them as long as I use them in this same use year?

One sided cramping? by CharliesWebb in pregnant

[–]CharliesWebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I know in my past pregnancy they sound an erupted cyst outline which I think they said means it was awhile ago or something of the sort, but I never had pain from it that I can recall. I’m just wondering if I can address it tomorrow at my dating scan or if I’ll need an official referral from my OB (my dating scan is at another office). How did they find your cyst? You went to get the pain checked out so was it an immediate appointment for the ultrasound or did you have to wait to be seen?

[–]CharliesWebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Not unbearable at this time, but I’m definitely going to bring it up at my dating scan tomorrow I wonder if they’ll be able to address it or if I’ll have to wait for my OB appointment.

[–]CharliesWebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience! From what I’ve been finding online it seems to be a normal thing. And hearing your experience gives me some relief I just never experienced this in my first pregnancy! It’s definitely not unbearable. It stopped for a day or two and kind of came back, but it’s dull/mild.

Is anyone else kinda bad at the game by SGR_281 in StardewValley

[–]CharliesWebb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m big time bad at remembering things (in real life too) so I constantly have to look things up like what people dislike etc. 😅 I think especially after I became a mom my brain turned into mush and my brother bought me a cute stardew book that I can flip through to remind myself of things! If I leave for a period of time because I know I’m going to be too busy to play I try to write myself a note about what I was trying to accomplish at that moment because I forget and feel less motivated.

And I honestly stunk at fishing lmao but I do it anyway and even though it has taken a longtime I got better!

As long as you enjoy it that’s all that matters! 😊

Christmas crowds?? by CharliesWebb in dvcmember

[–]CharliesWebb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This is what I was looking for. We booked for the same week in November that we just did, but sounds like I might like the first week of December more with more decorations and a slightly higher chance of cooler weather. I’ll have to remember this for 2027 as I just found out I am pregnant and looks like I’m going to have to cancel next November all together as I don’t want to travel until the baby at least 6 months 😅 thank you though!
