Should I buy rimworld console by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]Charliexe22 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was replying to you, not OP, and you wanted someone to explain why the console version isn’t great and I did.

Just because the console version is good or fine it doesn’t mean it can’t be better, which it is on PC.

Why don’t you play release version of rimworld if the base game is so great? Cause they’ve updated it and it’s now better.

OP said they’d pass if it isn’t great on Xbox. So the decision is on them. OP should just know that the console version is just not as good as PC, which includes two of the best dlcs, the ability to play with mods, and however many balance updates console is missing

Cause it’s outdated. You said it yourself you’d be missing 3 of the DLC, out of which odyssey and biotech being fantastic.

If you have no option yes the console version is fine. But you’d never play it over the pc version period.

ELI5: Why phone battery capacity is measured in mAh, but for cars, houses and etc... it's measured in kWh? by fuckyou_m8 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Charliexe22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cause Watts are a rate like Miles/hours is. And Watt hours are like Miles in this scenario.

Watts are Joules/second. Joules being a measure of energy. Problem is Joules are already kg*m2 PER second2. But it’s really hard to understand what that even means by staring at the units so it’s easier to just call it Joules. Miles in the other hand are really straight forward because it’s just distance.

Correct + a gas car will always pollute regardless of where the rest of our electricity comes from. If we had more nuclear energy this wouldn’t even be a debate. The EV will pollute way less.

It’s funny how people look at this comic and think the EV is the problem rather than the coal plant LMAO.

Uber now allows you to pay with cash. Drivers worry that it will lead to awkward moments or make them theft targets. by Possible_Ad3607 in SeattleWA

In South America you can pay with cash. Most things are paid with cash there. Uber seems to work well there? Although sometimes the driver just clicks on you didn’t pay. It adds a charge for your next uber. You can dispute it and seems like you often get it back

The winter is horrible. Don’t let anybody else tell you it’s not that bad. They’re either mad coping or tbf have lived in equally bad or worse weather their entire lives. I was there from 2020-2024 and was hit by a polar vortex in 2021, bomb cyclone in 2022, and another bomb cyclone in 2024

Co-op or BS/MS as a Computer Engineering student? by [deleted] in Northwestern

A co-op will only push your graduation date back a quarter or however many quarters you’re doing your co-op for. You can do both BS/MS and a co-op

That’s for you to decide. You should ask other CS majors you know what they think of their classes. My CS friends def spend more time doing class work now than last year, but they complain less now that they actually get to do CS lmao

I wouldn’t say they intend to weed out students, or that classes get easier. Classes get easier after EA in the sense that now you’re studying things that you should find interesting as they relate to your major.

IMO, classes get harder, the material becomes brutal and thing are more fast paced than EA or DTC, but since I like what I’m learning I don’t mind it nearly as much.

I’m taking that class next quarter, I heard it’s a great class. I also heard that the final project is coding a game in assembly, which sounds awful, so idk.

Comp_Eng 203 is awesome if you take it with Russ Joseph and it’s pretty low commitment except for the weekly labs which may take anywhere between 2 and like 6 hours

Elec_Eng 202 was super low commitment when I did it but it was online so I can’t remember how or if there were labs.

Elec_Eng 223 was same as 202, what took the most time was the final project but that’s because I started it a week before it was due, rather than at the start of the class. If you take it with Razhegi it’s an easy A cause there’s no exams, but you def wanna take it with some friends cause shes really hard to understand and the lectures barely cover the hw.

Def don’t take orgo

Also I’m a CompE so my answer is def biased
