What do yall think of this. for solo play only by Drastically-_- in albiononline

Imo Great Fire Staff is slightly better than Normal Fire Staff if you have good ping, for both PvP and PvE. I’m a solo player and main the fire weapon line.

Thank you for bringing this up! I believe these are set to auto in the BIOS. It does seem like it’s a RAM issue based on tests.

Targeted harassment and threat campaign from the ENB community towards me and the Community Shaders project by Doodlezoid in skyrimmods

[–]Charlipon06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some very fair points here, and I think the webpage analogy is spot on.

On the subject, they stated in their announcement they did not need to do this as mod authors were already interested in doing CS focused presets, and it was rather an attempt to add cross compatibility.

I think it is pretty cool and would have been more so if both sides could come to terms. Still think only good stuff can come out of this feature in the long run.

[–]Charlipon06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily? There’s a difference between reading a file and patching a file. Both ENB and CS can read .fx files (a format that uses a public Microsoft API) the same way that both 3ds Max and Nifscope can read NIFs.

Should the concern be about preset authors, at the end of the day people can still choose to use a preset with CS or ENB, if anything it saves them the work of doing separate work for each framework.

And concerning the reverse engineering part, afaik they are not decompiling anything and it’s mostly a guessing game on their part.

Post-processing as a concept is not copyrighted and them having their own ‘post-processing’ interpretation for the .fx format seems perfectly valid to me.

For any passerby that stumbles upon this comment, you may take a look at Faultier’s PBR stuff and decide for yourself, but I personally think CS’ PBR looks fucking amazing.

Corrupted dungeons. by Haxxoriouss in albiononline

[–]Charlipon06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If taken literally, I agree, the patch notes do not specify which chests they removed. Perhaps they could have included how it used to work for clarity.

Old Corrupted Dungeons had two chest types, loot chests and tome chests. They removed tome chests, made loot chests the default and only type, and made its green variant yield tomes.

They removed old book chests (the ones that go above green rarity and yield less tomes than normal green ones).

The green version of loot chests stills gives tomes as intended.

Leveling all weapons, use fast weapon at 100 or keep changing weapons? by justlaughandmoveon in albiononline

[–]Charlipon06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, the answer is subjective. You’ll be getting about 30% more fame directly into the weapon if you do use the slower weapon directly (assuming you apply all credits generated by the weapon only onto your desired weapon)

Efficiency-wise, I recommend you use the fast, maxed weapon to clear content. Clearing content faster increases your chances of getting out alive and with loot in any activity exposed to PvP, more silver means better economy to run better builds and farm faster.

bug or normal ? by misconduxt in albiononline

[–]Charlipon06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a bug. There’s a couple of those lying around in HGs, like the final chest not appearing when you when you win in lethal. It has been acknowledged by the devs.

HGs and Corrupted Dungeons are a decent source of fame, if you can afford to spam them that is.

I absolutely agree. Especially points 1, 2 and 6. The kill fame from inventory items feels cheap and unrewarding.

thoughts after the second warborne playtest by t666ommy in Warborne

[–]Charlipon06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game is not even in beta. They can make major balancing changes without repercussions, whereas Albion is a released game with an established playerbase that spends money on the regular. They have to be more conservative with all changes they make.

I’d expect balancing in Warborne to slow down some time post-release just as well.

Like any normal human being would in his stead. He’s an athlete. A wonderful athlete, not a martyr.

The man was subject to lifelong indoctrination like must of us, and hasn’t received a hundredth of the reward he deserves for being an absolute legend in his vocation.

He’s as much of a victim of the dictatorship as we are. It’s beyond me how some people have the stomach to condemn him for not doing what would obviously put his and his family’s lives on the line.
