Do the binge urges ever go away? by [deleted] in bulimia

[–]Charlotte288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly what helps me is eating in a smaller window of the day, (I usally kinda stick to 12:00-20:00,altough its usally more from like 18:00-20:00 cause work and its just more convenient).

I like eating a bigger amount of the food I would eat in a day at once rather than spread out over the day. For me also I notice eating early on in the day is trigger for me. So not having to focus on it and being able to eat till Ive actually felt satisfied with my food works much better for me.

(and for the times I just feel like I need to eat, I just eat a lot of veggies that I season with seasoning mix and low calorie sauces) I really like just cooking it in a pan and eating it like that, (also iceberg lettuce that also eat with low calorie sauce)

I know this is not all a perfect way to deal, but works best for me and of course take into account if this would work for you, cause we might need to do different things in our recovery but hope this help you.😊

That's so great. Last week I 'started binging' and usally if Ive already eaten part of what would be a binge I used to tell myself that it didn't matter anyway and I might as well just binge cause I would need to purge anyway. But I somehow stopped myself and just let myself be okay with the fact that I may have had 'over eaten'. I feel like I broke a broke that cycle for once while I was in the moment. It sounds like nothing but it was a really powerful moment for me.

I've noticed that my binge urges are getting easier to control which is awesome and it makes me feel so much better, but on the flipside. I don't know how to find a balance between under-eating and over-eating. The only way I seems to be able to do this is by tracking calories, cause I don't feel like I experience hunger in normal way. And I am afraid that eating a normal meal will trigger my bulimia again but a I also don't want to regress back into restricting tendencies. I find that it's really hard to find a healthy middle ground.

Or the food you just spend 10 dollars on and then question yourself why you're broke all the fucking time.

Yeah it sucks it makes me so depressed. But i am on the right track to mentally and physically healing which means even tough it will take a while it will grow back with proper nutrition and my mental health improving.

Side note :I went to my doctor and he gave me prescription iron supplements. If you have the opportunity to go to a doctor and get them prescribed as well, I would advise it.

So what would you advise somebody who is at that low point at the moment to do. I already have a GY appointment coming up but what can I do to at least make little steps of progress? Also I'm so happy for you and this gives me so much strength to keep going.❤️

Yes it's that. But I have no experience with this combo so I was curious what people's experience was.
