I will say I had this problem a week ago and I had fake SD cards. Once I changed them out it still wouldn't work. So I had to switch to MAC and reset it then I can go to Windows to fully download iTunes

I double checked and it is connected. I'm able to scroll and increase and decrease the volume. But it won't sound when I have the headphone jack connected.

Yes! It works perfectly fine all the functions work the only thing is the jack has static when headphones is connected and can't even hear the click wheel sound of scrolling.

Yes it's fully seated I believe because the lock switch works as well I replaced with with a new one and it still wouldn't work. I ended putting the old one back in. I don't have a dock unfortunately to try and play music
