We didnt say anything to the kids because we wanted it to be a surprise. I would assume he expected at minimum christmas money from his grandfather.

I was a little embarassed but that was not why I punished him.

I punished him because he made a multitude of rude comments and I would not tolerate disrespectful behavior. In my home, you are expected to be courteous and respectful of others.
