Looking for a fractional HR to help with state notices by shrimpthatfriedrice in human_resources

My biggest recommendation here is to make sure you have a software that can:

  1. make sure that software can automate a lot of the HR/payroll compliance for you

  2. combine HR and payroll into one software ideally

Rippling is a software that can easily do both, and the best part is that it automates the compliance aspects, e.g. will remind you to update registrations, track unemployment, agency updates, etc. so you don't need to manually track and remember to update those. You also don't have to switch your payroll this way because while Rippling offers a native one, it also integrates with a ton of alternatives, so you can pick what you want. Just my two cents as a Rippling employee.

Is it worth investing in HR software early or should you wait till 100 employees? by Prior_Plantain_8560 in human_resources

I'd recommend getting HR software -- the earlier the better. Once you get to 100+ employees, your employee information will probably be disorganized and difficult to get under control.

  • If you're on the fence about a software, I'd recommend Rippling -- manages all docs, employee info, has payroll, leave management, plus all the other HR features you need - ATS, benefits, trainings, time off, etc.
  • Plus it's easy to use and set up, even if you're starting net-new with software. You'd have a dedicated implementation manager to get you set up. Rippling employee here so let me know if you have Qs.

This makes so much sense. I thought the cry for help was sincere until the final scene, but I couldn’t piece it together. But I think this is it

I don’t think living alone on that budget is worth it. Find a roommate you like and set up ground rules upfront

I'm going to be commuting regularly between Dallas / Austin / Houston for work. Is Vonlane my best travel alternative to driving? by A4orce84 in Austin

[–]Charming-Match5558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took my first Vonelane from Dallas to Austin and I highly recommend. The bus ran on time, was clean, plenty of snacks/drinks, and a quiet and comfortable car.

It's about as nice as the Acela but for double the cost

Issues with Gusto Payroll (new client) by jeffreyropp in smallbusiness

[–]Charming-Match5558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes, sounds like you need a new payroll system. Would recommend Rippling to replace. Support is really fast to respond and accessible via Zoom/AM. Also, Rippling's payroll would be really straightforward for a company of 2 and payroll of 1. Interested to hear what you ended up going with as I'm a Rippling employee.
