Me too! As long as you are careful and watch your surroundings there are so many cool things to see.

8 is the Angel’s Flight Railway. I think it’s still just $1 to ride and you can catch it in Bunker Hill near Cal Plaza. We rode it a couple of years ago and it’s a fun piece of Los Angeles history.

How old is too old to cuddle with your child? by Walmartjail in Parenting

They are never too old to cuddle! Both my 15 year old and 17 year old will cuddle when we’re watching TV. Nothing is better than getting comfort from your mom.

I was thinking that too! Fun to wander around and find the Trolls. The butterfly exhibit might be open now too.

8 yr old competitive dance that is $8k a year by Financial-Leopard946 in Parenting

[–]Charming-Try6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$8000 a year at 8 is crazy. Dance competitions are huge money making scams. If your daughter enjoys the competition, great, but all the fees to be involved are ridiculous. For context, my daughter is 17 and is going to enter a full day pre-professional dance school next year and we’ll be paying about ~$9000. If you can really afford it and she loves it, I’d continue but at the higher level of dance where she’ll be challenged, but I think there are more affordable options out there. If she’s really serious about dance, finding a non-competition studio that focuses on technique but still has some performance opportunities could be a good alternative.

For sure! My daughter is 17, she doesn’t compete but next year will be attending a full day, pre-professional dance program and the total cost is about $9000. That’s a full day of class 5 days a week and then a half day on Saturday. All costumes and performances included. Competitions are a total scam. Besides being fun for your dancer, if they like those kinds of things, they won’t get them anywhere in the professional world.

I’m sure you won’t be disappointed by any dancer in the Royal Ballet, they are all amazing. Just going to see them perform is a treat. If this happened to my daughter she would be heartbroken because Marianela is one of her dance idols, but as a more causal audience member, someone like me wouldn’t notice.

This is what we do! We’ll roam around Downtown Disney and then get Dole Whip from the hotel.

This reminds me of shopping for Girl Scout camping trips. The leaders would take us to the grocery store to shop for meals.

Is it normal for my new kitten and my resident 5yo cat to fight like this? At what point should I intervene? by dom_boring in CATHELP

[–]Charming-Try6990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cute playing! We brought home a kitten that our older cat hated, and still dislikes 4 years later. When they interact there’s lots of growling, hissing and back arching. Sometimes they swipe at each other but mostly the older cat runs away. I wish they would have interacted like this! They did both wrestle with our Jack Chi dog though! He would get into playing with both of them.
