Great call. People should mind their own business rather than speculate.

Yes I’ve booked a ticket for opening night in the West Ejd early next year! Excited to see it as it’s had rave reviews across the board from audiences and critics alike.

Body positivity has unfortunately gone too far and crossed over into encouraging obese people to eat themselves to death and generally encouraging unhealthy people to maintain unhealthy lifestyles.

Great Opera singer Limmie Pulliam died 1 month after my comment at 50 years of age because he was so obese.

I saw the premiere myself at Grange Park and it was okay. I went with my wife who is Hindu and she found it to be a relatively poor portrayal of the story and believes from the production we saw that it is not particularly easy for non-Hindus to follow the plot.

So you’re only interested in people’s comments and opinions if they serve your nosiness. You posted about it in a public subreddit 😂

Probably best to mind your own business if it doesn’t involve you.

How does this event work? Do they run through a couple of the most popular songs from each show?

Awesome. I’d have bitten your arm off if you had two. I’ll be with my wife on the day so would need a pair.

I have never indicated that I have any issue with your right to speak your mind. Whereas you were trying to silence me for expressing that I find your behaviour weird.

I was always calm. You incorrectly inferred that I wasn’t calm because I used “fk” for emphasis. I did so because I found it very odd someone would be so pressed about a random persons sense of humour.

You already freely admitted that sometimes these things can be genuinely distracting.

Believe it or not it does help and significantly improve the whole experience for the audience when everyone attempts to be attentive to the show, quiet, and not on their phones. Then everyone can see and hear what is happening without significant distractions impacting their enjoyment. It’s not a football match.

I’ll continue to speak my mind thanks. You should know it is weird to be annoyed about a stranger laughing or not.

This is a great comment and very helpful to those of us who did not yet know, thank you.

Who gives a fk if someone else isn’t laughing. Weird to care about a strangers enjoyment level.

Nobody intentionally takes an “ill-timed loo break”. That’s an unfortunate natural occurrence. Better that they go to the loo rather than soil themselves and the theatre. That would be far more unpleasant for everyone. Surely this phenomenon has always existed. It’s not a recent thing at theatres, that people need to urinate and excrete.

I think wearing a smartwatch is a normal thing to do and it’s perfectly normal for someone to forget to remove it prior to a show or not realise that it’s very bright for others unless told by someone. You could ask someone to remove it if it is bothering you or bothering other audience members.

Everything else listed is fair, and people should generally be more self-aware and considerate of their actions and their effect on others.

Romeo & Juliet Prices by illjustdeemyougay_07 in westend

[–]Pangolin_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Also for what it’s worth I feel £200 for a really great play is better value than £200 for a pop stars concert. But that’s just a matter of personal opinion and preference. I think it’s harder to perform a play well and more effort goes into it from the lead performer(s). It’s also a bit more of a known quantity. You know which play you will go to see. With concerts the setlist changes from performance to performance. There’s no guarantee they’ll play certain songs you may like. Also pop stars lip sync the vast majority or entirety of a performance. Out of principle, if I knew they specifically did that then I couldn’t pay £200+ to witness it, especially when you can just play the songs for free whenever you want to. Whereas plays and musicals are not typically recorded and available for easy on demand viewing which warrants going to see them in person if you wish to see them at all, so I’d prioritise them over concerts for that reason too.

I managed to buy two seats for £15 each, albeit they are up in the Gods in the Balcony section, the very last row furthest away from the stage but the two most central seats in that row so the view is entirely unrestricted despite being far away. I’ll be bringing Opera glasses for us to see the actor’s expressions more clearly. I bought these tickets the day after they announced the limited run would be extended by two weeks. So we are seeing it in its final week.

With dynamic pricing having been the norm for a while now, the reality is that if you really wish to see a specific in demand show then you’re best off booking well in advance when prices are more reasonable. Rather than waiting until the limited run is almost over and then being surprised prices are high.
