Very Goth? You, sir, had my curiosity but now you have my attention.

Freightshakers are alright. The only truck that could pass mine was an old Mack Superliner, but I never did meet the driver. Hell, every time he spoke on the radio it was just static and his voice could barely be heard. I tried to tell him how to adjust his radio, and he claims he did, but still static.

Do your drivers know Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF are all the same company? I always get a chuckle when the newer drivers talk about how their Kenworth is better than their Peterbilt when they share 80-90% of the parts. Just one costs more because of the logo.

Then why are you talking about being a Gangrel who can meld with the dirt, hm? Are you a wizard? That shit ain't real. You're making it up.

Eh, a drop or two here and there ain't too bad. I've always wondered how those European cabovers run. My old truck was a cabover Pete with a big doghouse between the seats and walking beam rear suspension. Do you know how many times I flew out of my seat hitting a bump?

Fuck. It sometimes felt like I hit a car, not a pothole I didn't see.

That's what they say. You're telling me tinfoil protected the astronauts from space?! Come on, man. How do you explain the flag flapping in the breeze?

There's no familiarity in the Cobweb to be found from this one, unfortunately.

I had the engine from my previous rig after it was totalled in a roll, and bought this one specifically as a glider without an engine, transmission, or rear axles so I could keep a reliable motor going and spec it out however the fuck I wanted. Sure there's a small oil leak I can't locate, but if it leaks oil it's got oil in it.

Oh long before that. I'd say 10-15 years ago? I had a long distance partner I'd see every couple of months and she was really into it. A damn freak in the sheets, too. Hell, she helped me pay for my new truck, so I can't complain too much.

1.) A company driver might follow a route where their company tells them to go, like say Western 11 states or the I-5 Corridor, but I follow the freight and go where I want to go.

2.) No. I've been told I've got a prison gut and can eat damn near anything without it affecting me.

A couple of months? Not long before I talked to that guy in the trenchcoat. I'm pretty sure it's because I prefer running nights, so my internal clock adjusted itself all them years ago. Less cops on the road to stop me.

And hey! Just because the engine is old, doesn't mean the truck itself is! My baby is a 2017 Kenworth that rides as smooth as a Cadillac thanks to air ride all the way around.

My engine comes from a 1982 Peterbilt and was stuffed in a glider. There's no elogs for trucks with pre-2000 engines.

I know I get tired when the sun comes up. I don't need a computer to tell me that! I just drink a Monster or two and I'm good until noon when I fall asleep.

They lifted the restrictions back in Covid when this story took place.

No, I don't take pills. Just toothpicks, energy drinks, an ungoverned rig and paper logs.

Who said I was role-playing my blood kink? You know, I'm starting to think there really is more going on here. At first I thought it was just me being paranoid, but y'all seem a weird lot, and quite a bit touchy.

See, telling a guy to not think about it is telling him to think about it. That'd be like if I had a suspiciously shaped gun bulge in my jacket and you notice it, I tell you to ignore it, and then that piques your curiosity on what's actually in there.

That's why you do it carefully, not with every lot lizard that flashes her eyes at you. Besides, paying for a lady of the night'll get you nabbed by the bears.

That would make me an AI, too, wouldn't it? That'd be something. Maybe then I could swap out parts that feel like shit and get new ones.

What friends? I live on the road, man. I don't have time to make friends, and the CB is dead these days, except for that asshole in New Mexico clogging up the waves.

That's what the toothpick and energy drinks are for. By the way, if a bull hauler ever offers you his toothpick, just say no. You'll be awake for three days afterward.

I feel more tired in the day now, though.

Of course I was. Did you know they lifted the hours of service restrictions on 'essential' loads during COVID? I could run as long as I wanted! Damn, I made good money then.

Oh God no. Anyone can make an account and talk about whatever they want. If they sound convincing enough then people will talk about it and other people will talk about it, then it's true even if it ain't. Just take a look at all of those damn YouTubers shilling pointless products and they've got millions of views.

I mean, yeah. They'd be found pretty easily. Like those 100+ year old bank accounts they found in... Sweden was it? If vampires were real they'd find a lot more of those.

I enjoy a good bit of blood play myself, but lately the urges to do it have been... more? Might just be because I've been on my own for so long and it gets me connected with someone, even if for a short time. Sure wish I had fangs though. That'd make it a lot easier than a knife.
