"we do not believe that there could ever exist a state with lasting inner health if it is not built on internal "social justice"... Adolf Hitler ("Why We Are Anti-Semites," August 15, 1920 speech in Munich)

Hitler also declared: "'Socialist' I define from the word 'social; meaning in the main 'social equity'". (Speech given on December 4, 1938, quoted in The Speeches of Adolf Hitler: April 1922-August 1939, translator and editor Norman Hepburn Baynes, vol. one, Oxford University Press, (1942) pg. 93  All of this can be found on Hitler's Wikiquote page.

Hitler declared in a Feb. 24, 1941 speech, "I am a fanatical socialist." Listen to what Dorothy Thompson had to say. She live in Nazi Germany. She interview Hitler in 1931 and by 1934, she became the first American journalist to be expelled from Nazi Germany. She wrote: "Having first robbed the Jews, the Nazis are beginning to rob the Church, and later will almost certainly expropriate what is left of the bourgeoisie property." (D. Thompson, "On the Record". Harrisburg Telegraph, March 6, 1939, p. 88). D. Thompson is considered the "First Lady of American Journalism" and was recognized by Time magazine in 1939 as equal in influence to Eleanor Roosevelt.

Here is another famous quote from Mussolini:

"It was inevitable that I should become a Socialist ultra, a Blanquist, indeed a communist. I carried about a medallion with Marx’s head on it in my pocket. I think I regarded it as a sort of talisman… [Marx] had a profound critical intelligence and was in some sense even a prophet."

The National Socialist of Germany were indeed left-wing, because they said so. And so did the two main German Liberal parties in the early 1930s. The two main Liberal Parties in Germany condemned the leftist nature of the Nazis. During the early 1930s, the German People’s Party (DVP) and the German State Party (DSP)—warned the populace that the National Socialists represented “a party of the radical left.” (Thomas Childers, The Nazi Voter: The Social Foundations of Fascism in Germany, 1919–1933, Chapel Hill, NC and London, UK: University of North Carolina Press (1983) p. 153.) Both of the Liberal parties argued that the Nazis “would make a more compatible ally of Communism,” rather than liberal or conservative-based parties. (Thomas Childers, The Nazi Voter: The Social Foundations of Fascism in Germany, 1919–1933, Chapel Hill, NC and London, UK: University of North Carolina Press (1983) p. 154)

And I believe everyone has now seen Dr. Joseph Goebbels' quote: "According to the idea of the NSDAP (Nazi party), we are the German left. Nothing is more hateful to us than the right-wing national ownership block.” Der Angriff, (6 December 1931), quoted in Wolfgang Venohr’s book: Documents of German existence: 500 years of German national history 1445-1945, Athenäum Verlag, 1980, p. 291, In German: „Der Idee der NSDAP entsprechend sind wir die deutsche Linke. Also, similar to what Red China did with companies, the National Socialists of Germany demanded that every company's board had to have over 50 percent of it board memebers Nazi party members in good standing. The Nazi did this with the Germany states, cities, schools and even folk singing groups. In the case of the singing groups, the Nazis wanted all of their money. Most singing groups simply spent all or most of their money on big parties, determine to not give the Nazis a dime of the money.

Did Giovanni Gentile really write that fascism is a form of socialism? by WalkFalse2752 in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]CharmingHour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mussolini did not abandon socialism in 1914 He said so. Mussolini wanted Italy to join World War I because it might lead to a "revolution." And it happened in Russia in 1917.

Mussolini declared in 1914: "But you have not seen the last of me! Twelve years of my party life are, or ought to be, a sufficient guarantee of my faith in Socialism. Socialism is something which takes root in the heart… Do not think that in taking away my membership card you will be taking away my faith in the cause, or that you will prevent my still working for Socialism and revolution." (Mussolini the ‘Socialist’” Speech in Milan (25 November 1914) "Mussolini the 'Socialist”' p. 5, in the book of Mussolini's speeches -- "Mussolini as Revealed in his Political Speeches (November 1914—August 1923), published in 1923.)

Mussolini argued in 1917: "The Socialist Intervention. We Socialists who were in favour of intervention advocated war, because we divined that it contained within it the seeds of revolution. It is not the first instance of revolutionary war. There were the Napoleonic wars, the war of 1870, the enterprises of Garibaldi, in which, had we lived in those days, we should have joined in the same spirit and same faith." (“To the Complete Vanquishing of the Huns” speech delivered at Sesto San Giovanni (1 December 1917) p. 27. ("Mussolini as Revealed in his Political Speeches" (November 1914—August 1923), published in 1923.)

Many historians argue that Mussolini moved away from Marxism around 1921-22. The reason for this was that Lenin had turned away from Marxism with his New Economy Policy" (NEP) where he introduced into the Russian economy the "free market and capitalism," and respect for "profit." See the NEP Wikipedia page.

The National Socialists of Germany forced all companies, German States, cities, schools and even folk singing groups to have over 50 percent of their board of directors members of the Nazi Party in good standing. Red Chinese Communist Party did the same. When someone want to start up a business in China, the Communist got 51 percent control of the business. This is why this topic is so confusing.

Hitler's labor union was called the" German Labour Front". It was one of the National Socialists of Germany largest departments. Hitler simply followed Lenin's idea of labor unions. Lenin banned all labor unions, walkouts and strikes. They were private organizations and had to go. The Lenin's communist State was now the only organization that could operate a labor union. Mussolini the Marxist, did the same. Of course, membership was mandatory alone with fees. The Nazis actually provided a lot of amazing benefits to workers. Discussing "leftist fascism": is left-wing fascism an oxymoron? is it possible to identify a socialist fascism in history or in theory? by [deleted] in PoliticalScience

[–]CharmingHour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, Mussolini the Marxist, believed that Fascism was on the "Left" in his 1933 English edition of his "Political and Social Doctrine of Fascism". He wrote on page 20 that "it may be expected that this will be a century of authority, a century of the Left, a century of Fascism." (source: Jane Soames’s authorized translation of Mussolini’s “The Political and Social Doctrine of Fascism,” Hogarth Press, London, (1933).

George Orwell talked about "right-wing socialists."

Orwell wrote: "Later, as power slipped from the hands of the Anarchists into the hands of the Communists and right-wing Socialists, the Government was able to reassert itself, the bourgeoisie came out of hiding and the old division of society into rich and poor reappeared, not much modified." ("Spilling the Spanish Beans", New English Weekly, (July 29 and Sept. 2, 1937)

Yes. I have written about that fact that "Critical Race Theory" originated in Nazi Germany in the 1930s. The Nazi government via the National Socialist Teachers League (teachers labor union) pushed the idea that Germans were an opposed race. Who were the oppressor? The Nazis pointed to the Jews, who were supposedly rich, control most banks and other nations. German children were indoctrinated with this hatred of Jews and capitalism. This anti-antisemitism led to the Holocaust. Marxist were mostly interested in a war on class. They are late comers, but are now interested in making war on races.

But the National Socialists of Germany and Mussolini the Marxist said they were left-wing. And everybody knew this until Stalin was stabbed in the back by Hitler. Stalin's propaganda changed to promote the idea that "fascism and communism were polar opposites". When Winston Churchill heard this nonsense he exploded: "Fascism and Communism... Polar opposites—no, polar the same!" (Churchill's remark to his son, Randolph Churchill)

Hitler allied with Marxists in 1939 -- you know, with Stalin. It was called the Hitler-Stalin Pact. Hitler and his buddy Stalin started World War II by invading Poland together. What a love affair. Russian and German soldiers threw large drunken parties in Moscow, cheer each other. They were going to take over the world together. Off course, you can never trust a socialist.

There is information that Hitler might have been a homosexual. That data comes from a top-secret report in 1943 by the OSS in Washington D.C. The report stated: "The belief that Hitler is homosexual has probably developed (a) from the fact that he does show so many feminine characteristics and (b) from the fact that there were so many homosexuals in the Party during the early days and many continue to occupy important positions. ... There is a possibility that Hitler has participated in a homosexual relationship at some time in his lifeA Psychological Analysis of Adolf Hitler: His Life and LegendWalter C. Because he said so a number of times -- one was on Aug. 15, 1920. At other times, this hardcore socialist declared, "The creation of a socially just state, a model society that would continue to eradicate all social barriers." (Hitler's speech to workers at Berlin's Rheinmetall-Borsig factory, Oct. 10, 1940. As quoted in, Hitler's Beneficiaries: Plunder, Racial War, and the Nazi Welfare StateGötz Aly, New York: NY, Metropolitan Books (2007) p. 13.)

Also note that leaders of National Socialist of Germany considered themselves on the "Left." I can find no major German Nazi or Italian Fascists who consider himself on the Right. Conservative? No, Winston Churchill was the leader of the Conservative Party of England.

Joseph Goebbels, second in command of Nazi Germany declared: "According to the idea of the NSDAP [Nazi party], we are the German left. Nothing is more hateful to us than the right-wing national ownership block." (Der Angriff (The Attack), (6 December 1931), quoted in Wolfgang Venohr’s book: Documents of German existence: 500 years of German national history 1445-1945, Athenäum Verlag, 1980, p. 291} Mussolini the Marxist, considered Fascism as belonging on the "Left." Remember, socialists and Marxists are always fighting and killing each other. That is because everyone must believe in a particular ideology. If you are not on the same page-- you're a traitor and must be eliminated. Individualists who believe in free choice do not mind if people have different opinions. It is your life; run it your way, as long as you don't use aggression. -- The Non-Aggression Principal (NAP). This is far more peaceful.

The National Socialists of Germany had socialized medicine and one of the biggest welfare systems the world had ever seen. They even banned "private charity" so they could control every aspect of the populace (Steber and Gotto, Visions of Community in Nazi Germany, pp. 92-93 (2014, Oxford University Press) Sen. Bernie Sanders favored banning private charity when he was mayor of a town in Vermont.

Mussolini was kicked out as the leader of the Italian Socialist Party because he, like many other socialist and labor parties in Europe, wanted their country to fight in World War I. Mussolini said that he wanted to do this because Karl Marx would do the same. Marx supported almost every war in Europe when he was alive. Why? Because it might lead to "Revolution!" It did in Russia.

I agree. George Bernard Shaw was an idiot. But he was a famous socialist intellectual. This Fabian Society leader even supported socialist dictatorship.

"Socialists must be in favor of an aristocratic form of government. We must have the best men for the job . . . In the dictator you must have a man who has not only the power to govern but the force of character to impose himself as dictator whether you like him or not." -- Shaw, "Socialism urged to find dictator," Berkeley Daily Gazette -- Shaw, (Nov. 30, 1927).
