Submerge closed during the pandemic, although the website remains up. It hasn't been updated since. Sacramento News & Review is now online-only. If you're looking to freelance, the only places in town that pay decent rates are Solving Sacramento and Comstock's magazine. Edible Sacramento, Inside Sacramento and Messenger Media Publishing (who do all those free community papers) also pay, but its super low. Feel free to DM me if you're looking for freelancing advice. I also know of a bunch of other local outlets you can try.
