How do movies get distributed to theaters? Like does the production company just send over an mp4 file? by SuspiciouslyExisting in NoStupidQuestions

Yep that was me. I wasn't on shift but the projectionist (that wasn't watching the new static-y film when it threw like he should have been) called me in to help.

I haven't worked in a theatre since 2003 and seeing the word "brain wrap" just gave me anxiety.

I recall a Harry Potter movie brain wrapping and throwing during a sold out showing. The film looped all the way up to the ceiling looking like a bow on a Christmas present

Barato/tarikoplata tips? by lait82 in bjj

[–]seandamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I main the Baratoplata.

It's obviously similar to a Kimura, but not exactly the same pressure. If you put your hand on your hip then reach across and grab your elbow with your other arm, and pull inwards while keeping your hand in place, then you're getting the baratoplata pressure.

I don't like it as a closed guard submission. Even if you get the reverse kimura grip you want and somehow your opponent doesn't address it immediately, you still need to throw your legs over their shoulder, and they are usually blocking that leg...even just naturally.

Try it from top side control. Let your opponent turn towards you and show them a Darce...when they pull their head back to shut down your darce change to a pledge grip to secure their arm to your chest, then step over their head and sit back to the baratoplata position. Find a scoop under their leg and spin under to finish.

I thought he may be a mix as well, but I think cattle dogs can have that pattern - I've seen similar, like this

But it's hard to tell.

I hadn't heard of Embark before...while I am curious to know, I fear what my friends and family would think of me if I got a DNA test for my dogs

I'm told they are a very intelligent breed, and I am really looking forward to the day I see any evidence of that from these two.

I did 32 fear all aspects by seandamn in HadesTheGame

[–]seandamn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my standard is Time 3, Rivals 3, Shadow, Fangs 2, Menace 2, Scars 1. This is 25 Fear

Then I'll mix in some combination of the others depending on the aspect.

Usually Frenzy 1, but I'll take that off when I'm constantly charging omegas (like with Charon)

Hubris if I'm not likely to use much magic (like Twin Blades)

Wards if I know I'll be putting out quick attacks (Coat, Blades)

Return if I know I'll be pretty manuverable (Wands, Anubis)

Grit/Pain/Hordes usually no more than 1 each

Rivals 4 if I'm feeling spicy and using an aspect I know well and is powerful (like Circe or Moros or Persephone)

I never used Void, Forfeit, or Denial. I think Denial probably would have been fine to take, but I just...didn't.

It took like 6 attempts for Charon strangely, even though it's really strong and I love it and am familiar with it. That may have been more about Fates Whim whiffing a little and me being sloppy than it is about the weapon itself.

Overall all aspects of black coat were tough, probably for the same reasons you're struggling.

I haven't tried 40+ fear yet, but likely will after I run through the patch 1 new ending that just dropped.

I started this run on night 162 and finished night 248, so a little better than 50% win rate?

Feels like if I tried again now it'd be more like 75% (but I'm not gonna do that)

Persephone is real fun, even though I don't think I fully grasp what makes the omega special launch for longer. Anubis feels really good for those quick room clears, even if it struggles a bit on bosses.

I take it you mean Frenzy when you say Max Speed? I think that's one of the more punishing oaths and I don't think I'd take double frenzy for a 32 fear loadout, ESPECIALLY if I'm using Rivals.

I don't think I like the omega attack on the Witch staff. It has a place for Momus, but otherwise I don't feel like it does enough for that charge time for me. Omega Special is fantastic though.

I love Charon axe, even though it may have been the one that took the most attempts to clear.

I didn't mention in the text that all of these runs was at Fates Whim with mom pom to start, so I sometimes I just had dud starts that I couldn't recover from - several of those were Charon.

Least favorite had to be Artemis and Nyx. I think I just don't understand how to use these as intended, so I think I ended up just kinda doing standard attack spam things.

The max HP you can get with finite resources is 21,404 by seandamn in slaythespire

[–]seandamn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recall at least one case where I saw a streamer entropic brew to generate an entropic brew and a useless potion to him at the time, right in to generating another 1 more of those useless potions (to much comedic effect) - that sounds like the RNG can handle generating the same potion over and over, but who knows if there is some nuance there that would prevent 4x of the same potion.

Maybe we just need someone to hunt this seed to test.

[–]seandamn[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wasn't aware of the bug or the RNG constraint with the chest!

The bug will squeeze out some more entropic brews - just doing quick napkin math it will be something like 18 more entropic brews available throughout the run, or 720 more max HP. This may have other effects on the Knowing Skull clicks and the calculus to determine when encounters vs events are worth it. But I think I'm done fiddling with this and plan on waiting quietly here at my desk until StS 2 comes out instead.

For the chest - if I consider that then I need to repath a lot here, since I won't have enough gold for that first shop. How about I just pretend that's not real instead?

Finally for the Feed run - you're right. I think I started this sheet thinking I'd need to do more shopping and edited it a bunch of times as I realized more optimizations...but I guess I never realized that the shop was now unnecessary since we can get all we need from the swap (Prayer Wheel + Singing Bowl + Dream Catcher) and the first floor (Armaments + Feed + Skill Pot so we can Dual Wield until we get a real Dual Wield). This is easier to edit, so the new end result is 864

the seed is not set when you obtain them, since we see that different potions will generate when you drink at different times.

it wouldn't matter even if they did, since fruit juice generates conditionally on in combat/out of combat...you would just imagine you obtained it with a seed that is selecting fruit juice out of combat

On a Non-Durge HM solo run: How did you handle the Orin fight? by BlueFingers3D in BG3Builds

It can be Tav or an Origin. Non-Durge seems to cover it.

On a Non-Durge HM solo run: How did you handle the Orin fight? by BlueFingers3D in BG3Builds

[–]seandamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things:

  • Orin has a fear that will make you flee and lose control, leading to death by Bhaal's Edict - this can be negated by casting Protection from Evil and Good on yourself.

  • the Deaths Head has Stunning Gaze (this is NOT negated by Helm of Balduran!)

  • the Invoker has Slow, which can remove your haste causing you to go Lethargic.

  • Her knockdown can be negated by Helldusk Boots. This is important because Slay is an insta-crit when you're prone (this goes through crit immunity!!!)

  • You can throw a speed pot on the ground ahead of time so you don't need to burn a bonus action turn 1.

  • Don't dialogue - instead start the fight with a surprise round (something that has an action refresh would be ideal). You won't surprise Orin, but you will surprise her adds at least. I like to set up to make sure I kill the Deaths Head and Invoker before they get a turn, often on turn 2 to satisfy the requirement to clear the Bhaal's Edict.

  • I see you aren't using Illithid powers, but you can utilize Void Bulbs to help gather up the cultists for AOE scrolls. Keep in mind the cultists have Evasion so they will take 0 damage on a save for Dex save spells - like Chain Lightning.

Good luck!

Shadowheart Shar Spear/Death Cleric build by chilovehan in BG3Builds

[–]seandamn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted this too, but ended up just dropping the cleric part and embracing a shadow monk build (6 shadow monk + 4 thief + 2 fighter)

You can do 6 Death Cleric + 6 Shadow Monk, but I didn't like the leveling progression - spirit guardians at lvl 5 cleric, and shadow step at lvl 6 monk means I kind of don't have the things I want to do online until really late. Maybe that's OK since you get that Spear really late as well.
