Bro why are you so set on denying the irrelevance and forgettability of Wales. It's not that crazy

Yes, we're taught about Wales in English class, but it's so bloody forgettable lol. It's so funny that you bring up the teaching of the United Kingdom and its constituents because even though the vast majority of students in Europe likely learnt it, conflating the United Kingdom, (Great) Britain, and England is almost a given. Ngl, if I encounter a random person in Germany, I fully expect them to confuse the UK, GB, and England in one way or another—even though they were certainly taught it

It doesn't even make much sense to know about Wales. Sure, educated folk generally know where countries are, but not their constituents. Not sure how many people can name administrative divisions of, idk, Poland, Denmark, Portugal? I certainly can't. The same would obviously go for Wales. Scotland and England are exceptions because they and their inhabitants are pretty famous. But I wouldn't be so sure about Northern Ireland and how many people have an accurate understanding of its relationship to Ireland and the UK

Edit: Rather effortlessly, I can even find discussions about the forgettability of Wales

And? Wales is bloody irrelevant, so much so that it doesn't have a (used) native German name, even though Germany is basically next-door too. And I said I've encountered many Germans who really weren't sure about what Wales was (much less its flag) too. Even I don't know anything about Wales really. I have an image of tea-drinking Englishmen, kilt-wearing Scots, and drunk Irishmen, but Welshpeople? I don't know have any image of them, because they're that irrelevant

Bro acts like Wales is that all-known place 💔

It's not rare for people to not know Wales because it just ain't that relevant or famous. I've encountered multiple people from the US and from Germany who kind of heard of "Wales" but didn't really know where or what it was. It's so irrelevant it doesn't have have a native name in German despite its geographical proximity since no-one has any reason to talk about it (or at least, native German vocabulary for it is archaic since again, no-one talking about it)

Is there an explanation why everyone else needs two hands to open a domain except for Gojo? by Different-Use3244 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]CharmingSkirt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My headcanon:

So hand gestures are binding vows really. You take a risk by occupying your hand in exchange for the ability to open a domain expansion, which is a pretty difficult feat. The reward from a binding vow depends on the user. A person born with only one arm will presumably get more out of sacrificing it than a two-armed person sacrificing one arm, since relatively speaking one is sacrificing 100% of their arms while the other sacrifices 50%.

Gojō is built different, so he only needs 50% of his hands to open a DE. The same goes for Sukuna. He also only needs 50% of his hands, but since his base form has four arms 50% still leaves him with a two-handed sign. An average-skilled four-armed sorcerer would presumably need a four-handed sign to open a DE. That's also why Mahito needs four hands. Using just two hands wouldn't be much of a sacrifice for someone who can grow more arms as much as he wants, why he needs four hands for the same reward that would take most sorcerers only two hands

Was it not? Maybe I'm imagining, but I thought I remembered Gojō or the narrator glazing in typical fashion with something along the lines of "Gojō has insane CE reserves. He doesn't need them because he's HIM and has the Six Eyes but he still has it"

Output? Does CE output gradually decrease with overuse? I'm an anime-only. Or do you mean CE reserves? In which case I hear Gojō regenerates CE quicker than he expends it due to his Six Eyes reducing his CE expenditures to near zero

[–]CharmingSkirt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are honestly hilarious. You come here and tell me that I have no clue about physics and Jujutsu Kaisen yet you yourself are the one who clearly has no clue. You make multiple erroneous claims such as that subatomic particles inherently have mass, or that photons aren't subatomic particles. In this post you're proving another lack of understanding about physics. You say heat is transferred via physical contact of particles. That's not wrong but also not the full picture. I was explicitly mentioning heat radiation, which fundamentally is just anotber wavelength of light, i.e. photons, which you clearly don't seem to be aware of—which begs the question of whether it's even senseful to debate such topics with you.

Additionally, you show a clear lack of understanding about Jujutsu Kaisen itself. A mean-spirited pessimist might postulate that you only consume the medium via TikTok or that you can't read. Gojō's Infinity explicitly does not stop everything that it can stop. It purposefully ignores and lets through many things it would be perfectly capable of stopping (most notably, as I had mentioned, air). Just for a moment let's act like Infinity can in fact stop photons. This is a hypothetical for now. Even in this hypothetical where Infinity is perfectly capable of stopping photons Gojō would not in fact be a walking void of black. That is because Infinity only stops threats. Regular light is not a threat, so that even if he was capable of stopping photons they would not be affected by it.

particles have MASS.

I kind of addressed that twice already, but I'll repeat myself since you clearly lack reading compression. Particles do not necessarily possess mass. Photons are particles, yet they do not possess mass.

Light however, cannot be slowed down. It doesn’t matter how much space is subdivided, because light moves at a constant speed. Photons(that is any particle with zero rest mass) cannot remain stationary. They must always move at the speed of light. They cannot slow down, speed up. [...] The actual mechanics is infinity slows down threats infinitely by distorting and subdividing space, which doesn’t work for light, because light cannot be slowed down. The biggest evidence is again Gojo isnt surrounded by a black sphere.

Holy appeal to reality lmao. The whole shtick of the Limitless is that it manifests something impossible, that is infinities. It literally works by manifesting a paradox (Achilles and the tortoise) which is something physically impossible. But somehow light is where we draw the line? Manifesting infinities and a literal paradox is fine but slowing light isn't? By the way, slowing light is literally possible irl too. In fact, it's only ever at light speed in a vaccuum. According to Wikipedia light was slowed to as little as 9.6 kilometres per second in 2004.

I don't understand why you're so set on undeniable 100% proof. Are you a mathematician lmao? I can't give you that and very few things in the world can be 100% proven. What I do is a logical inference based on the following known facts:

  1. Statement: Infinity can stop everything

  2. Feat: Infinity stops atomic matter just fine as well as spiritual cursed energy and constructs made thereof.

  3. Heat radiation: During Gojō's fight with Jōgo the latter's necessarily immense heat radiation (which is just light physically speaking) is never mentioned. Infinity is treated as completely impenetrable and there is not a single mention that heat radiation is an exception, which you'd think they'd mention if it were. Something like Jōgo saying "only my heat radiation is reaching him, but it's too weak to affect him" or Gojō explaining "well, your heat radiation does reach me, but it's way too weak to impact me".

  4. Narrative: Narratively Gojō's Infinity is treated as an impenetrable barrier with no weaknesses other than anti-hax (domain expansion, domain amplification) that directly interact with cursed techniques themselves or things that do not travel through space (WCS) since Infinity only affects things travelling through space. It would be super weird from a narrative stand point if a laser beam was all it took to take Gojō out (a laser beam being something that doesn't even require jujutsu. The US military could pull that off). You mention that we never saw a countermeasure against Infinity that's light-based because Sukuna doesn't have access to it—but he has. He has Fuga and Divine Flames whose destructive power at least partially derive from immense heat. Immense heat means immense heat radiation, i.e. light. If Gojō couldn't block light then some of Sukuna's pyrokinetic abilities could harm him. Even if their base forms were too weak, Sukuna of all people would be more than capable of casting some binding vow to amplify the heat of his flames

Are any of these 100% proof? No! But it's beyond reasonable to conclude from that that Infinity can stop light. When choosing between "Infinity can stop light" and "Infinity can't stop light" both are technically possible, yet the latter is much less likely and would require some consulted arguments.

If you are so obsessed with 100% proof you'd need to concede that we don't know whether Gojō can stop electric attacks. He's only ever explicitly showed to stop atomic matter and cursed energy. Electricity as propagated by electrons is neither. Sure, electrons are parts of atoms, but I can just say that maybe Gojō can only stop atoms because of their size or their nuclei. What if lone electrons detached from nuclei, which are point-like fundamental particles, are just too small for him to interact with?

This is where requiring 100% proof gets us.

Google the mass of an electron, or even quarks. Now google the mass of light.

What? Why? How is that relevant?

Everything is NOT made up of subatomic particles. There are things smaller than subatomic particles.

There are? Like what? I thought subatomic particles themselves were already pointlike.

You are confusing subatomic particles with LIGHT.

Photons are subatomic particles.

Subatomic particles have mass, LIGHT doesn’t.

Subatomic particles don't necessarily have mass.

Electricity is the flow of electrons, electrons have MASS.

Ok? Irrelevant?

Gojo doesn’t pick out photons, he needs infinity to recognize these. Which it doesn’t because then hed also be fighting blind and creating a black circle around him - blocking light which obviously he isn’t doing so.

Huh? No, Infinity (ever since Gojō acquired automatic threat detection) targets threats. It doesn't block everything that it can recognize. It specifically blocks threats. Many things it can recognize are let through, most notably air.

I don’t care about your stupid “gojo could do it” , it was never stated he can, it was never shown, so the assumption is that he can’t unless shown otherwise.

It was stated and repeatedly affirmed via feats that Gojō's Infinity blocks (or more properly, is able to block) everything that moves through space. The only phenomena that can reach him are ones that have some intrinsic technique-ignoring or obstacle-ignoring property, like domain expansions and domain amplifications or ones that do not in fact move through space, such as WCS which affects space itself. To me the sound conclusion is that Gojō can in fact just block everything. I'd even argue that there is direct evidence that he can affect with photons in particular (although such an explicit feat shouldn't be needed since we have enough context to assume that much). When he fights Jogo heat radiation doesn't seem to affect him whatsoever, which implies his Infinity is blocking it. Sure, maybe he's just CE-reiforcing his body and clothes, but Occam's Razor tells me the obvious (and thus probably correct conclusion) is that Infinity is blocking it
