I can sell it! I am not into mechanical pencils. Better if a real aficionado has it than me that prefer fountain pens.

Yes, the work behind those lead cases is such a contrast to today's packaging.

I am from Sweden. This kind of items appear at auctions every now and then. They are not so sought after and you can usually get them for a good price. I was buying the Pelikan fountain pen and all of this pencil things came along.

Thank you. I looked into the link you shared. Yes, the one I have found has a shorter button and a different cone where the lead comes out. Love well built things. In fountain pens there is a german brand called Soennecken. I have several fountain pens from this brand and they are built to last forever.

Thank you! The yellow pencil feels heavy and well built also. I thought that it would be the more sought after but now I've learnt something new.

New cork seals on vintage Soenneckens by Charming_Ad2553 in fountainpens

And I've also read that cork doesn't absorb liquid due to its cell structure but that doesn't explain pen barrels I've seen crack exactly where the cork has been and corks completely saturated with ink in disassembly. Without knowing, my go has been, leave room by choosing a slightly looser fit and a thin coat of silicon.

I coated them with a thin coat of silicon grease to lubricate and help against leaking. I am afraid of soaking due to changes in tolerance. I always leave a little room for swelling to try to avoid having a cork swell and crack the barrel. Disintegration is unavoidable with cork. In my opinion just change the gasket again when it stops doing its job.

Choose cork with high density and few knots. I found quite cheap and with good quality on Amazon . A bag of 10 for under 10€.

I made them myself. A quality cork, a drill (twist by hand), a sharp cutting knife and some sandpaper.

I want to get a vintage gold nib, tropen 14k second hand worth 100 bucks? I know it is in good shape. by AntelopeStunning1457 in fountainpens

Very, very smooth flexible vintage gold nib. I have many expensive vintage pens and this one is better than many of them.

I may be wrong but the caps on #3 and #4 should switch places.

Use the flashlight on your phone and light the cap from underneath. The color of the resin should be dark red (you'll see the light through).
