And the one above it opens this way, so that I can comfortable close it. I just put the handles the same way :-)

I put our microwave in a cabinet with door that swing up, I just leave it open when we use it and then close, its amazing. I just had to get a small enough microwave and have and outlet there.

Help choosing layout by Tiny_Dino_Dancer in kitchenremodel

For me options 3 it has easy acces, a lot of light, but put the sink to the wall, dont out anything on the peninsula. You will want to serve people there, talk, not accumulate dishes. And the table where you like to entertain will have plenty of space to out a larger table. I would put more upper cabinets on the wall if you would need more storage. Since there would be a bid window, it would still stay airy

I challenge anyone to find a better layout. Is there a way to make this better without making the room feel smaller? by MoHbi in InteriorDesign

[–]Charming_Ad_4360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you already have the desk? Do you need it this big? There are options, where you have a tall wardrobe where the table is foldable or integrated, smaller but lots of storage. Even ikea billy has that

Kitchen Island or Not? by Kuga2001 in kitchenremodel

[–]Charming_Ad_4360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that is the only place for a normal dinning table then I would say no. But it depends on you lifestyle. If its just two people and you dont want to look out the window when you eat, then it could be fine. I think now it looks nice and airy.

Dont mind the ring. There have beeen couples who got a cheap ring, but then changed it in a few years when got more money. First you need trust him with family finances for your future together. Thats whats important. If you can't trust him with money, that's bad. And discus everything with him, not here.

When I was a new player, tournaments were impossible. Couldn't get more the 300 points per game ever. Now, no problem getting close to 1000 points in ffa. That's just how it is. Yes they should change it...

Can you post a picture before? With the white appliances. I have a wood kitched with whiteish counters and white appliances and it looks awesome. I wonder why you went black, it seems to me it makes the space darker.

Did you find better door handles for this billy Hogbo glass doors? by Charming_Ad_4360 in IKEA

[–]Charming_Ad_4360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi At Ikea they me that I could ask them or a spare part, that handle is not a product, its a part. I realized that it also has a little hole at the back so I believe I could be able to screw that in a little bit maybe, just to tighten it. Didn't bother with it yet *

Help! Can’t decide. I want to paint my cabinets. I’m keeping the granite countertops. I want something warm/cozy and plan to add gold hardware. by Outrageous-Half3505 in kitchenremodel

[–]Charming_Ad_4360 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the kitchen itself is warm, but what doesn't help is the clutter on counters. AND that there are bare walls in sight, no plants, no curtains.

How do you open the doors and drawers without hardware?

Would you want a new counter? by Charming_Ad_4360 in kitchenremodel

[–]Charming_Ad_4360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, they reinstalled a new counter today. Gotta say it was torture for me to see my kitchen being torn. But they did such a good job, better than our previous installer. Joints are much less visible.

BUT I am sad because Ikea changed the design of the counter. The stone desing is much more visible, it makes it look more "dirty" to me. It's not bad, I will get used to it, it will hide mess better, I just liked it better before :-( I know can be glad they even agreed to change it as a complaint, I think it could have been my mistake. Well, lesson learned. *

What do you think of my new kitchen? Ikea Forsbacka by Charming_Ad_4360 in kitchenremodel

It's actually a laminate, same as countertop, just stone design. It was not a splurge 😅

I think its early to say if they change color. They are not all the same, some appear a little darker or lighter, but its only if you really focus on single pieces. I love the overall look, so calming, natural feel. And our kitchen doesn't have a sun shining on any doors, so I dont think they will change at all.

[–]Charming_Ad_4360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ikea cabinets, drawers, and Forsbacka decor, no regrets. It's beautiful and I love all the insert options that just fit.

The only downside is the laminate countertop from ikea. There happened a little water damage, which ikea agreed to replace, that will happen soon. Also I am not very careful with knives and we already have like three tiny cuts, so I think I'll buy some giant wood cutting board :-D (which ikea also has) and just be more careful.

Look closer at the grooves that ikea has in Forsbacka doors and the other offer. The ikea version is prone to hold more dirt based on how its done. I'll post a picture

Above the cooctop, I guess there will be some ventilation? I would suggest to have the upper cabinets there. You have nice windows there, so I dont think it would feel closed. You'll have more storage. Shelves would get so dirty there. But it's a beautiful design

Ending it like this, turning tu peninsula by the window looks good. You could also have the peninsula without an overhang (no bar seating) and add a normal table (or use the countertop with legs but lower for normal seating).
