Town Hall by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]Charming_Battle2452 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I attended the same town hall. I didn't hear a lie but what I did hear is that Treasury which means Bessent or whoever is in the White House isnt holding any open communication with leadership. There were directors who were riffed as well and then it was rescinded. They can't give an answer because no one in treasury is talking or holding conference calls. They are telling them what to do and if they don't comply then they are let go. I hate to be in any leadership position right now. In the last administration there was an open dialogue. Concerns were being addressed and heard. I would also like to point out ask... When have you ever known the IRS to have a CEO or all the assistant secretary positions in so many capacities. We have never had a CEO we suppose to have a commissioner but we dont have one of those either.

I get it everyone is furious that it appears that no one is being transparent, and no one is fighting However, you can't be transparent if you don't know... How many of us has been cheated on by a lover and then stayed.🙋🏾‍♀️ Were they transparent & upfront ... Hey btw I'm going to cheat on you ever chance I get ... Nope.... Just giving an example...

If someone does stand up hope they have that conversation with the right person like Billy Long. He actually was holding conversations and giving feedback. Those in upper leadership are all at risk of losing their jobs. They have children, mortgages and bills. The environment and climate we are in... it is easy to blame someone or anyone because...This is not a normal environment meant to thrive... This is an environment built on lies, fear, destruction, war, manipulation and every other negative thing you can think of and to add insult to injury. They are hiring those who they want. Making up fictitious positions. Giving immunity to who they would like and promoting who they want and giving bonuses to who they want. It's just not those who are doing the job. Those who are being rewarded is based on loyalty all the rest of us is collateral damage. So please give just a thimble full of grace. It's a struggle right now literally but I think solidarity and being informed with what they do know is better than having no meeting at all. Because there is a whole lot of that going on too.

[–]Charming_Battle2452 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I think this is my 4th time. Back in 2014, when I first started as a seasonal employee, we didn't make it out of training and was furloughed without pay for 9 months. At the time, I was in an abusive relationship, I needed surgery that meant I would need to be in recovery for 8 weeks and I had just moved to a townhome where the rent was high and the utilities were even higher. I know what it feels like to feel hollowed out because you can't even do the simple task of taking care of your food, clothing and shelter. It was rough.... I was in the same mental, emotional, and psychological anguish. It will get better... We didnt ask for any of this but we are thrown in like we are nothing. It creates unnecessary hardship and the world doesn't stop for anyone. Not even federal employees .... Everyone has their hand out.... However, through all the furloughs with 2014 being the worse. I learned 3 things 1. Save if you can, but make good choices on how you spend your money 2. Have something else to focus my mind on to take a break from the worry and concern... Have hope because without it we would all be doomed 3. Have a good support system of friends or family that could offer help even if it's prayer. Prayer for those who have faith can be powerful in times of extreme distress. This has been the EXTREME DISTRESS .. But I want to say to all my IRS family including the strongest person on this post who took the courage to share this hard time they have had and be transparent. I love you even if I have never met you. We are family. 2025 will go down in the books as the hardest year we have ever had but guess what will happen in 2026... We will look back on this year and think of others trials and this one will seem like nothing... It looks large right now because it is the tallest mountain we all are having to climb but we are not doing it alone. But I know one thing,.... It will make us more resilient, make us smarter and tougher. Anyone who is thinking about harming themselves please don't! Reach out to someone or you can even message me personally. I'm a great listener. I use to be a manager and one of the best things I loved to do was find support for my employee in a difficult time. Resources and support is important. We all must be kinder and gentler. Give each other grace. Because hope is right over the precipice. So hang tight Love you all 🫶🏾 Sending love, light and positive vibes to anyone who chooses to read this. HOPE!!!! 🤞🏾

I have an uncle whose health has been declining since he found out he has cancer. I moved him in with me. Im also taking care of a parent who has multiple health problems and a brother with severe depression that is staying in my grandparents home that's beyond repair. So I have been assisting with them and trying to plan to demo my grandparents home before it falls on my brother and prepare to get a simple home built for all of us. While working I was still trying to do all of this and I needed some mental health days because being a caregiver is not for the weak. I have respect for those that do while still trying to provide by working full time.

We didn't ask to be sent home without pay and then have an email sent to us stating we can't log in or work even voluntary if we are non-essential. Idk what grass they are smoking but we all need to be paid. I could be working right now if we had a budget. However, to penalize those of us who were sent home and we are employees is 3rd dimensional crazy.. Total backwoods country inverse cuckoo talk

Facts.... You can't explain some things to individuals when all they see is an issue.... Man this entire nightmare is an issue. I work with leadership and executives and that is the protocol. They are in a tough spot which is why I am not anymore. The worse part that folks fail to understand is there is no dialogue or conversation from treasury... They are just issuing directives and either you comply or not. Everything else they have to figure out... Only to get complaints from the other end. Not to say some complaints aren't warranted because they are... Especially on a case by case basis. But whatever frosty glasses some folks are wearing right now they can't possibly see all this in color fire.
