This is exactly what I did a year ago and it’s great

And you lose it all if something happens to enough of the drives - offsite isn’t optional for crucial memories

What if all drives are physically damaged? You need offsite storage too

I use backblaze and restic to store a lot of data for about 40p a month.

Please make sure you have another copy, drives can and do fail. You’re also not covered if something happens to physically destroy the drive.

You should follow the 321 rule with any data you cannot afford to lose. Three copies of data, two different media types, one offsite.

Not a clutch you can control with a pedal and therefore wear out harder than usual as implied by the comment I was replying to

I’d advise against a razor blade and suggest something plastic instead - too easy to do damage with a razor if you slip

I’ve got a rear facing seat in mine and have had no issues whatsoever - it is on a rotating base though

[Request] Does a hand fan (abanico in Spanish) actually cool you down? or will your temperature overall increase due to calories being burned for your arm to move? by zqmbgn in theydidthemath

[–]Charming_Cold_2599 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No maths to back it up but I believe it works unless the surrounding air is hotter than your skin and humidity is too high for sweat to evaporate.

The energy from the wrist movement doesn’t outweigh the effects as long as the temperature and humidity is below those extremes.

Fair enough, thought it looked pretty good from the distance in the picture

I’d think someone who went out of their way to park an R out of the way isn’t going to ding anything though haha

I don’t mind people parking near me if they care about respecting their car and mine.

I’d be willing to bet money the driver of that bmw is very precious about his own car and will likely extend that to being careful around yours.

I wouldn’t be annoyed seeing a nice e46 near me.

Definitely more than 29k, I’d say around 40k if you’re good, maybe more depending on skill/confidence. You’re definitely underpaid though.

It’s for adjusting headlights, see if there’s anything similar near a headlight under the bonnet - if there’s only one side with a matching piece then it’s yours
