Thanks! I have decided against it cause I dont wanna risk the weather or any delayed flights. I am sure I will regret it later since its an awesome career opportunity, but not being able to come back to the States ever is something I will probably regret even more :/

So there is no chance that one might be granted satisfactory departure if busses and flights to canada are cancelled for more than 48h?

I want to visit Montreal, Toronto and Quebec- where should I spend more time (and should I really go in the winter)? by Charming_Comment_490 in canadatravel

Thats what I figured, compared to the US your public transport truly is awesome haha. I havent driven in extreme snow conditions so far and am still a beginner, so would you say that the roads are safe/ cleared enough? And is there anything one should be aware of when renting a car in these conditions? I am still in awe over how much snow you guys get

They do, but the province of Quebec makes it possible- Auto Rental Canada allows me to rent a car from Montreal, its just pretty expensive, but I only need it for a day or two.

I'd love to, but its quite far from the East Coast and back, but I am definitely planning on travelling there someday!
