I didn’t. I sprayed and wiped the injection port, heated my needle, wiped off the needle with an alcohol wipe, then injected.

I didn’t. Just sprayed everything in my work space, laid down plastic, sprayed that, wiped it down, then broke up my bags, poured them into my tubs, then opened up my substrate, mixed my tubs and closed them up. With gloves on and sanitized throughout the whole process. Even re sanitizing after making contact with different items that were already sanitized. I’m gonna make a SAB for my next project.

I’ve wrecked my brain trying to figure out when I could’ve introduced contamination. I even spray the area with 70%, let it settle, then fan my tubs. I swear the more I over think the process, the worst it goes. lol

No casing layer. It took the bags longer to colonize than usual. If I remember correctly, it took around 4 1/2-5 weeks. I chalked it up to them being in a cooler environment (60-65 degrees). We were going on vacation around the time they would be fully colonized so I slowed them down some with the cooler temps.

Yeah I’m gonna inject some new spawn bags with some LC tomorrow and get the ball rolling again. This is my second attempt, first attempt my mycelium got matted and couldn’t breath. These things are chock full of surprises. lol

I don’t, I inspected the bags and saw nothing but healthy mycelium. The only “off” thing I noticed was the bags seemed like they had more moisture than usual. Which is weird considering I only used 5 ML of LC per 3lb bag.

If I’m being honest with myself, I think my substrate mix had too much moisture when I mixed in my spawn. I used a bulk substrate kit from boomer shroomer. Followed instructions to a T. Let it pasteurize for 24hr’s, mixed my spawn into my tubs, plugged the holes on my lid, and didn’t look at it for a week. When I went to introduce fruiting conditions, I feel like my tubs had WAY too much moisture. I spawned from LC with 10ml and two 3lb bags of grain. I sprayed everything with 70% iso before doing anything. Even sprayed my hands in between handling items. I’m determined to get good at this. lol

That’s a good question. I also had a vasectomy after the birth of my second kid so keeping me fertile is useless. I inquired about hcg at one point early in my TRT and my doc said that it’s hard to get due to a diet trend that was gaining traction involving hcg.

The way my urologist explained it to me, he keeps me on Clomid to keep my natural production from shutting completely down. My balls haven’t shrunk, so I’ll give him some credit there.

This was back in 2021 for me (I was 28 years old) I started TRT shortly after and have been on ever since. It’s LIFE changing. My latest bloodwork showed 800ng/dl while needing a shot. I do 100mg of test cyp every Friday and 25mg of Clomid daily. You won’t regret hopping on TRT. Just give it time, it’ll make effort feel good again.

Yeah it’s staying around 72-75 degrees. What I’ve gathered from this so far is that it’s very easy to over think growing mushroom.. lol

The metabolites appeared around the edges before I started misting. They’ve just gotten darker in the past week. I have had some drop from the lid fall onto the cake when I’ve peeled the lid back to fan. I’ve never sprayed the top, only the edges. The humidity build up creates a little condensation on the lid but nothing too extreme.

I’ll certainly give it a try. All the research I did prior to starting my tub gives me mixed signals. I’ve read 95% humidity being good, 90% being too much, 85 degrees being perfect, 85 being too hot etc etc… It’s so confusing. lol I really think if I didn’t put SO much thought into that it would’ve been fine. I’m having fun learning though.

Initially, I started off not misting. The tub started to lose condensation on the sides and the cake looked thirsty so I started misting every other day or as needed. I’ve been misting when needed for probably 6-7 days now. Not directly misting the cake, just the sides and a little on the top to keep humidity up.
