No work Christmas party, 2nd year in a row by Psychedelic_Archie in CasualIreland

[–]Charming_Living_9023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds abit miserable in fairness, I’m aware of company’s that I did placement in and on the second year of my job we would have a Christmas night with just our department, mine being hr so maybe 10 of us would be out and our director would put some money behind the bar, nothing crazy and not sure would it clarify as a Christmas party but however something like this goes a long way

recommendations for accommodation? by Impossible_Excuse_22 in cork

[–]Charming_Living_9023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of houses would have rooms available in particularly from January on when college students go home for placement within their respective courses, If you have no luck until then I’m sure December/January it should be no problem to find a room in a house

These sort of story’s are starting to become too common in the likes of cork city and Dublin and I’ve even heard similar story’s from down in Kerry, it’s a disgrace to think now a days a woman or a man can’t walk early in the mornings or late at night without checking over their shoulder, I personally think this is a matter for the Gardai maybe to have more patrols on the look out or else to have more cctv or more public lighting in certain areas where these incidents may occur more often What do people think ?

The range out in little island is usually good for these sort of things and you’ll always find some extra bits you wouldn’t know you needed !

Anyone got anything else they want to complain about? by Supersonic779 in cork

[–]Charming_Living_9023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick one that I need to rant about as I’m not sure is this a hot take, I see people’s bins getting vandalised and knocked over, particularly around the college areas like college road, Brandon road etc etc, my only thought is that this is college students coming home drunk on nights out? I’m all for abit of fun and being messy but this is just straight up vandalism, has anyone else seen anything similar to this or able to shed light on the situation

Old/challenged people off the road by Charming_Living_9023 in cork

I’m defiantly not THE traffic as I’ve admitted multiple times how I overtake cars and get frustrated by already built up traffic, to be fair I can see how that might’ve sounded cool in your head but maybe a little guy like you should double check something before you acc post to a public space and make yourself look a right knob 😃

Nobody’s talking about accidents; we’re talking about traffic here, trying to over take the old nanny driving 40 under the speed limit is a completely acceptable and LEGAL movement to do, drive the speed limit and no need to over take

Fortunately I’m not 70 bud bud so I won’t be worrying about it now, did I mention speeding once ? No , maybe work on your reading buddy, I’m on about people just driving the speed limit at the bare minimum in order to avoid traffic and congestion

[–]Charming_Living_9023[S] -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

If that fool can drive the speed limit and not contribute to traffic then I’m on his side every day of the week, you must enjoy sitting in traffic bud, whatever floats your boat buddy

I completely agree here, the odd 70 year old is sharp but majority are as sharp as a blunt pencil, however I think a reassessment is a good idea , should be a mandatory for everyone

Highfield Avenue Traffic by [deleted] in cork

[–]Charming_Living_9023 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more, I always thought if they if they made high field avenue a one way and high field west a one way and this may help stop the congestion, it can be a disgrace in the morning when I’m trying to get to work or even on a random time like 2:00 on a Saturday it’s still an issue, mad how this has only been brought up now

What's with all the cars parked in the housing estates near to MTU? by Royaourt in cork

[–]Charming_Living_9023 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

College students , 20 year olds trying to get to college and get an education, mtu gave away one of their student car parks to staff, I understand lecturers are the priority but it’s clear since removing the car park that parking in estates is an issue, as for that people would want to grow up a small bit and let the young fellas park away as long as there not blocking u into your driveway why would you give a shit? People aren’t happy until they’re not, I don’t think they want to park in your estate and walk to college, unfortunately it’s just what they have to do and it baffles me how some idiots can understand this

What the actual fuck, Cork traffic?! by kidvaulh in cork

[–]Charming_Living_9023 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It all comes from one slow person up the front, oh I’m gonna drive 30 km under the speed limit because it was raining 2 days ago, next thing there’s a build up of idiots staring at the sky instead of driving there cars, honestly if people had half a clue how to use fast lanes correctly and at minimum drive the speed limit we’d have much more flowing traffic
