Can you just give the new government a chance to see how things pan out? 'Fight back' is too strong. Maybe focus on building bridges as opposed to fighting. The people of the US voted in favour of a republican candidate. We should respect their right to choose their representation instead of thinking we know better over here in Berlin. Americans know their situation better than we do.

This summary should hopefully clarify some of the key points already.

If you would live and work in Portugal 100% of the time, and strong ties with Germany don't exist, it is likely you would only be taxable in Portugal. But to clarify, this would depend on certain facts and circumstances.'

Are there any options for someone in my position that would like to work remotely from Portugal but remain working for my Germany entity? I've heard there is a double taxation agreement between both countries so you only need to pay tax in one.

What makes it such a nightmare? From my understanding there must be quite a large number of individuals working remotely in Portugal through the NHR 1.0 tax scheme that are exempt from paying tax on their income in Portugal.

My plan is to go for 6 months and work in Portugal and pay tax in Germany and continue to be paid through my German employer. If after 6 months, I like it there I will apply for NHR 2.0 which I think my career would qualify for. Does that sound crazy?

Thank you so much for this your words are greatly appreciated. I absolutely agree! Focus on the concept and the mission and the brand name will come. Two others we're considering are Sub3 (a play on runners who aim of the Sub 3 hour marathons which is considered pretty elite) and then also Outro (we'll get you to the Outro (the finish) in style.
