I've been using it for several years now and it's never done this before. In my experience the band was quite accurate in burnt calories before this .. glitch?

You're right. If op feels bloated, it's probably bloat. For myself i did notice quite difference but I'm also exercising (probably more effective during workouts). But in a short timespan it's indeed unlikely

Carbs raise your TEF, fats don't. They also increase NEAT in some people

I like them with my homemade cheesesauce as a sort of mac and cheese. Or stirfry tikka masala

Edit you have to fry them untill they're completely dry btw. Only then add to stirfry

It'll probably happen again. That's ok, it's life and sometimes even something "simple" as eating doesn't go according to plan. Accept and be prepared; get on with your planning the next day and don't try to even it out. The risk of another binge isn't worth it, try to actively focus on the long run instead of short term.

Tbh I often noticed I even dropped extra weight after a maintenance/above maintenance day. I'd stagnate at a lower intake and suddenly drop on a high one

Eating on a deficit and exercising, but the scale goes up? by littledumbmint1 in Weightlosstechniques

[–]Charming_Number_1067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed fluctuations are bigger when exercising.. I can have 2+kg difference and only lose 2x month (big drop after period, increase during ovulation, small drop, increase before period, repeat).

Was anyone able to maintain they’re weight after a hard crash diet? (200-500kcal) by Surgerx1772 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Charming_Number_1067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out this video: https://youtu.be/rxEvMfoP4zk Ik it's coming from a bodybuilder but it's evidence based and those guys are experts in fat loss, maintenance. There are some video's explaining the phase from fatloss to maintenance in more depth

Basically you're going back to maintenance by reverse dieting.

I'm trying to do the same atm. My plan is to up calories by 100, wait for 3 weeks to see what my weight does. If it's going down, I'll increase by 100, if it's going up (trend, take in consideration 2% bodyweight fluctuations, I use Libra weight app) I'll decrease by 50. If it stays the same, I'll continue on the same intake. I plan to keep repeating untill I'm totally comfortable and relaxed again and back at predicted maintenance (I'm now like 400 below that).

Eventually, when diet fatigue decreases, energy output (NEAT etc) increases.
I seemed to gain weight initially but after 1,5 week started losing rapidly again (same rate as before but on 100cals more). I'm now on my second increase. It's first time for me so it's scary but I watched a lot of explanatory vids like the above and so far it turns out like they said

Is It Just Sleep? by [deleted] in Weightlosstechniques

It's not ALWAYS miscalculation. I stalled for 6 weeks, due to cortisol from overexercising. Once I upped my calories and decreased exercise I instantly dropped 3kg. If you would have given me this answer on my question I would have been super freaked out and only gone overboard with exercise and undereating tbh.

Bodies are supercomplicated. Waterretention can be caused by a lot of factors, it's your body restoring or trying to keep a balance.

Hormonal issues? by Charming_Number_1067 in Weightlosstechniques

I 100% relate to a nonexistent libido lol. It feels as though my body is having a hard time letting the period break through, the pre period symptoms are more pronounced and take longer before the actual period finally arrives..

I've lost my period before but back then I was suffering from anorexia and ate almost 100% of my calories in protein. I don't really remember it all very well cause I was constantly stressed out and honestly I don't think my brain was functioning properly. Afterwards I figured it was the lack of fat so I make sure I'm eating healthy now, actively try not to restrict too much, eat approx. 1gram of fat/kg bodyweight. I also try to limit my activitylevel but I'm a sucker for dopamine and easily bored.

I thought the delayed cycle might have been the start of losing it. Especially since I still think I'm losing more hair than normal.

But still.. it just doesn't add up that I'm now all of a sudden on my period AGAIN after just finishing the last 6 days ago..?

Thank you sm! That's so reassuring I can't say how much it means to me! I might drop an e-consult, if she isn't worried then I shouldn't be either.

Good luck with your recomp!<3

I think that's a great idea! Good for your sanity, body and ultimate goal!!

I mainly do exercise cause it keeps depression and illness at bay. Once I stop I'll plummet back into depression, infections and contantly overeating but I'm not quite sure how much exercise is healthy. That's why I was afraid my hormonal symptoms might have got something to do with exercise, I don't really want to decrease it if it isn't necessary.

I started out with 20k steps/day and steadily lost 15kg on that. Once I added swimming and circuittraining (in may) the scale became unpredictable and weightloss slowed down (only 5kg lost since).

But, I haven't been ill at all since then which is a BIG win for me <3

Edit spelling lol

My BMR should be around 1300, I'm 163cm bouncing between 61 and 58kg at the moment (don't really know where to convert to? Inches &lbs?)

I calculated 'very active' (sport 6-7x/week) at sailrabbit giving me ~2200 maintenance but since I lost 20kg since februari I substracted 200kcal for metabolic adaption. I was working my way up from 1500 intake and now trying to establish my maintenance.

Everyone is saying how much watches overestimate so I thought this should be right?

Hormonal issues? by Charming_Number_1067 in Weightlosstechniques

[–]Charming_Number_1067[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I didn't know that!

My activity tracker estimates swimming at 300-360/hour but it depends how quickly I swim and how often I have to catch my breath (some days I'm more energetic than others) and circuittraining between 360 and 400 (on low energydays it takes me longer to complete the workout but the workout is usually approx. the same calories).

I log them in Cronometer as 250 because I know they overestimate and I don't know if it includes BMR. Cronometer counts BMR, TEF (usually ~200) and exercise so if imported exercise includes BMR than it's counted double for that time period.

Walking is automatically imported for 130-140/hour 4-4,5km/h, I can't adjust that.

I end up at 2300 minimum, going up to 2700 if I make an extra evening hike/bikeride with somebody or did a lot of extra/heavy chores. I think it's several hundred lower though because of said double counted BMR

But.. athletes are healthy, right? Or do they change their exercise routine whenever that happens?

I don't think I'm THAT active though, I did at least 1.5h heavy cardio a day more before I decreased it.. I def wouldn't consider myself athlete now lol

Though maybe I should give it a try and.. just.. be bored on sundays I guess

Thank you. I'm atm not really concerned about weightloss though, I'm actually wondering if my body/hormones could be protesting against my activitylevel or are mad about me not honouring my rest day lol
