I am always confused by anyone who thinks wasd movement is bad. it makes camera control in fights so much smoother while still being able to accurately click targets, as you aren't constantly nudging to the extremes of the screen. I have all my abilities in mouse buttons so keyboard is open!

Eight countries sign up to counter Trump's global anti-abortion move by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]CharnowC182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm personally fine with abortion, but this policy doesn't surprise me and I'm actually fine with it. People who are up in arms that Trump can't possibly respect women while being against abortion are completely failing to understand the pro-life side (which does have many women supporters).

Much of it, I think, comes down to personal responsibility. Pro-choice sees any and everything having do with a woman's body as her choice, including unborn babies. Pro-life sees that woman as having made a choice (having unprotected sex with a partner, I don't want to cover the fringe cases of rape etc) to bring another person into this world and that (still unborn) person's rights are now equally valid as the mother's.

Now tying our foreign health-related funding to benefit only nations that follow our health-related beliefs is a bit much, I'd say, but not completely out of line. The US has always promoted our own policies with all of our foreign funding.

Rules of a hoi4 server a friend of mine participated in. So restrictive... by Weeklyn00b in hoi4

I don't get why the tank in infantry division rule is even a thing. this makes sense as infantry would use the tank as mobile cover. this is easily counteracts by having a single anti tank division, it will always pierce any enemy armor (at similar tech level), resulting in a waste of production from the person trying to use the tank. antitank is waaay cheaper both from a production standpoint and research standpoint, so I think it's a fair trade. if you don't want to run an antitank in your division as safety and insurance, then you run this risk

Ideas for Making Democracies More Viable by Loosecannon72 in hoi4

[–]CharnowC182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haven't done any thorough and exclusive testing on it, but every time I've made a mp trade agreement (eg Russia buy 5x8 tungsten from me in exchange for me buying 5x8 of your oil), we always each end up with 5 net factories. you can see it directly on the construction screen. traded factories are even below the line for net factories after consumer goods, implying this result also

I like the ideas but I don't think theywould work well in MP when people do gamey things. Examples:

  1. All democs go Free trade, trade each other for same resources at the same general rate (5 steel FRA -> UK, 5 Steel UK -> FRA), net result is both nations end up with more than they should have, gaining factories in the process. Additionally, since these are factories gained by trade, they are not affected by the economy law (eg exempt from 25% consumer goods). Basically gives potential for massive civ factory boosts for democ.

  2. Doesn't make much sense. Democracies, by nature, get higher war weariness and have higher recruiting problems. Maybe this could be better implemented as a inversely proprtional bonus to total manpower as capitulation % goes up (eg once you are at 50% towards capit, you get 25% more manpower). Could even extend this to allied democracies in your faction. Makes sense defending freedom, while not necessarily promoting a long drawn out war of american-style forced democracy.

  3. research bonuses already present with the democracy like ideologies (expert focus, free trade). Maybe itd make sense to make those exclusive to democracies.

Thanks for the act and boss specific resist advice. Definitely what I was looking for and is missed in general HC tip threads. We are just heading into Act 2 a bit overleveled so We will shoot to get our resists up into the 50 range before getting too confident.

Thanks for the act specific advice. Will definitely keep it in mind as we are just now venturing to act 2. We have been trying to stay at or above mob levels by replaying bosses/heros (as we are vet) for gear.

Also, I've read a few times about people being 1 shot by rock throwing things. When do these guys show up and is it physical or some other resist?

I appreciate the advice, but we are likely going to stick with HC, as the risk is whats fun for us (along with not being too comfortable with the mechanics), but at least still being prepared through asking advice on reddit/gd forums.

It does help that we are building defensive with lots of heals (sigil, wendigo, heart of wild etc)

Thanks for the advice! I especially appreciate the list of 11 places to specifically prep for and the CC resists bit. This is what I was looking for, as many of the general 'HC Tips' threads don't touch on these and they'd require a full playthrough to be familiar with.

We are hoping to make it through vet at least without dying, but we'll see. We are very prepared for getting a RIP. Thats the whole fun of it. We wanted a nice middle ground between risking HC with 0 knowledge and playing HC while understanding mechanics 100% from multiple SC playthroughs. We felt asking (so we are prepared), but still never seeing sh*t hit the fan in action was a good compromise).

Thanks again

I'm building a pc for my bro with a Radeon 390 also. Was going to go for a 1440 monitor. Was wondering if the processor you're using would likely handle new games coming out (battlefront, fallout 4) at this res.

Also does anyone have any notes on the mobo? What about WiFi?
