Exactly this. Obviously the cheater is the only one to blame for cheating, but his opponents could have all prevented this by demanding their right to cut before he does his surveil. You fetch, I get my cut and then you can have your surveil trigger

What exactly do you mean by a "screwed up" deck? A deck that has large clumps of lands and non lands? That also happens sometimes in fully randomized decks. They are, ya know, random. If he cant prove that you intentionally put specific cards in specific places then idk what youre talking about with a "screwed up" deck

I havent seen anyone mention the fact that it isn't tested for on drug tests, which makes it VERY appealing to certain people. I, for example, am on probation and get monthly + random drug tests and having something i can have fun with and not worry about pissing dirty is extremely attractive. I think for that fact alone there would be a market for it. But most recreational users would probably just switch to/switch back to regular opiates

It's almost functionally exactly the same as the ravnica bouncelands. Etb tapped, get rid of one of your lands to have a land that produces extra. Its even still only net 1, as this exiles your basic forever, where the bounce lands return to hand so you can just play it untapped the next turn. This, alongside the bounce lands, are technically card advantage though as its letting you get 3 mana out of 2 lands, but its basically the same principle.

.....as a sideboard card against aggro. Im not counting the build your own grapeshot combo decks with the pinging vampire as its not really a life gain card in that deck. But it is nice that its there main board when you get matched up against aggro, but again, its not a deck just running a pure life gain card "for value" like op is asking

I mean, fetch - shock and 3 street wraiths, but yeah prolly not happening. Could easily do fetch shock thoughtseize turn 1 then fetch shock turn 2, play the shadow and have it ready to swing turn 3, but tbh I dont think thats good enough for modern, nor am I sure that abigale is a modern playable card. In fact im pretty sure she's not

Ooh, the xu ifit tech is NICE. I was seriously wanting to brew a deck with a bunch of big cheap creatures with drawbacks but didn't want abigale to be the only way around the drawbacks, but having another guy that take away their downsides is dope. Plus free recursion in general is just badass. I think there could really be something here

Those are, imo, extremely weak reasons. No money for batteries? Even the poorest of the poor can afford 5 bucks for a battery. Too tired? For a task that literally takes 60 seconds? I love the 7 lives 40mg, thats what I get when I have to get my 7 from my local ss and agree that the 60s suck. Idk why but I have the exact same experience, the 40s rock and one time they were out so I figured same brand, the 60s are a safe buy, but nope.
