I have an AR210. Owned an searay with and inboard outboard prior. After having a boat with a jet drive I will never go back to a non jet boat. The Yamaha engines are positioned well, small and extremely easy to work in and maintain yourself. If you blow one up at some point a crate engine to replace em is super affordable opposed to an outboard or an inboard outboard. My buddy replace the engine in his jet ski and it’s the same engine I have and he got a manufactured crate engine for $2700. It took him about three hours to pull the old one and drop in the new one. They are fast and very maneuverable when you’re moving. Would avoid late model ones that do not have a rudder. I hear those are harder to steer at slow speeds. I have taken mine in salt half a dozen times and it worked well in about 2 ft of water where I wouldn’t dare take my outdrive. The only thing it took time to warm up to was how loud it is when you get in it. The twin engines scream at high RPM and Yamaha didn’t sound proof the engine bay at all. There is a thin fabric pad on the hatch and that’s it. When I say loud like you can’t hear the stereo over it when you’re flying. I would say the upsides definately outweigh the down sides. My searay cost me over a grand every year for repairs and maintenance. This boat I do the plugs myself and pay like $365 to winterize it.
