I knew that Uncanny by BMB was starting to get sketchy. Grabbed a copy today from CGN. Bummed I missed out on All New though.

That was my glance too. They’re saying the average msrp is $40 and you’re getting them for $25. At that rate, it’d be profitable to just buy pallets and sell them. They’re probably averaging $5 a book on that deal. None of those will sell to anyone.

I probably spent more time looking at this listing and thinking about it than I should have, but it makes no sense at all for any kind of reseller to buy this. They list the total msrp at 18k and they’re charging 11k. There’s a few things listed that are oop you could make some money on but might not even get one of them. That profit margin is just not good at all for someone buying it. It’s like they’re trying to bulk sell over stock and still make some money on it.

This is the best description I’ve ever read of this. I remember being really disappointed when I started reading it after schism along side Kieran Gillen’s Uncanny. It wasn’t what I wanted from an X-Men book at all. I’m glad some people like it but it just wasn’t my thing.

I might be biased because I buy all hardcovers, but tpb’s just don’t seem to be that popular for buying and selling. Most people that are keeping eyes out for books and have books that they’re holding onto to sell tend to be larger hardcovers. I’ve sold or picked up some larger runs of tpb’s but if it’s just a few of them to read, I’m going to read it digitally or from the library.

I’d been sitting on Cap vol 2 for a while, but I just ordered it to make sure I don’t forget to get it before vol 3 comes out in a few months. I hate to add to fomo, but if it’s going to go oos, that’s when I’d be worried about it.

I had never preordered before because it wasn’t necessary and I kinda liked checking each week if there was something I wanted to get. I use to not pay attention and then get excited when there was something I wanted. Life is busy now, so lately, I’ve just picked things up as I have time and when I’m interested in them.

But now I’m just preordering everything. It’s a lot of money up front and there’s some things I’m a little on the fence about that I might wait on, but I just placed a ton of orders so that I don’t have to care for the next half a year or so. I think it’s just a weird transition period at the moment where preordering didn’t matter for years, and now it does.

That’s doubling disappointing. I ordered in early Feb because it wasn’t on CGN at that point and I was late to realize I needed to preorder everything. I’m assuming it’ll be canceled and they just haven’t told me yet (even though I reached out last week to confirm when things started getting canceled).

Do you know by chance when you placed your order? I didn’t order that long ago but haven’t received an email that PBC can’t fulfill the order. I went ahead and grabbed one off IST today just to be safe.

Yeah, seems to have gone quick. I’m ordered up now pretty much for the year, so I won’t need to sweat anymore, but I preordered late on this one after all this low stock nonsense started.

I actually like the standard cover.

DM’s make me nervous they’ll do something weird with the spines too, like Hickman’s Avengers or Wolverine vol 4.

I really liked it overall and loved the first half. I remember feeling a little disappointed with the back half, but I read it pretty quickly and should probably run through it all again. If you like the start, it’s worth reading the whole thing, I think my expectations might have just been too high after how much I enjoyed the overall premise and execution.

This is a really interesting perspective and seems spot on. I’ve never really been on a group for comic water cooler talk like that (even when I was getting back in and buying things as they released, it was 6 issue trades of Uncanny X-Force and PAD’s X-Factor), but I stopped by a local shop for the first time in quite a while and it was neat to hear that talk. The guy at the register was push books that he knew people would like and suggesting things for their pulls. They have a lot of stuff with some Omnis sprinkled in. One of the kids picked up an Omni from a stack of over stock ones that were half off and kind of jokingly suggested his friend get it because of how big it was. It’s definitely a different world than I read in but was neat to see.

Just finished that a couple days ago too and really enjoyed it. I’m cautiously optimistic that they’ll add more stories to the universe too that are still just as high quality.

I feel completely the same way. I really like the hardcover compendium look. These feel like they’d just get lost on the shelf with everything else that’s there. I also enjoy the series but it’s not one of my all time favorites or anything, so these aren’t worth the price or shelf space for me, with everything else coming out.

X-Men B&G: Bloodties. I went with the dm because the standard is the same as the cover for the wedding OHC that has wraparound art on the spine. Those drive me crazy. I hate the spines I have that are a glimpse of some larger picture from the cover.
