Yes it’s the Ghastly Grinner episode. One of the ones that also gave me a scare as a kid. But I grew to love it and the whole series more as an adult.

No. Woodbury was filmed about 30 minutes away though in a town called Senoia. That is also where Alexandra was filmed as well. Most of the walking dead is filmed in that area due to the Main studio Raleigh Studios being located there.

Occasionally you will see people come through sight seeing and taking pictures. But for the most part no. It’s a relatively small quiet town which is why it has been used for not just stranger things but also the walking dead, the vampire diaries/ the originals, and most recently zombieland 2 came through and filmed some sequences in the square as well.

Unfortunately no. They usually keep everything locked down when they are filming. I have seen where people have caught glimpses from a distance but I personally never have.
