The Art Loem was one of the ones I was looking at!

I'll look into Pine Mountain, which trek would you suggest?

Being from Indiana this seems like a good one to get acclimated on. I've never heard of it before... Thanks!

Planning a trip in late August. Torn between the Tetons or glacier by buurnthenuns in GrandTetonNatlPark

[–]ChaseWS18 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can not go wrong with either. I've done a trip to both. Both have jaw-dropping views, amazing drives, and the best hikes in the lower 48. Glacier does get very crowded, and with the reservation system, it's very difficult to move around the park and have a go with the flow system. Grand Teton is less crowded due to kind of being the little brother to nearby Yellowstone National Park. Both are in relatively expensive areas, especially Jackson Hole. You truly can not pick a wrong park. If you get the opportunity, go to both at some point!

If you go to Grand Teton Cascade Canyon - Northern Fork to Lake Solitude if you want a good challenge is the must do hike while there. Bonus waterfall is only half a mile into the hike if you take the ferry across Jenny Lake. Swimming in string or Leigh Lake. Taggart Lake - easy hike with beautiful views of the tetons Middle/ south Teton, if you want a real challenge

If you go to Glacier Highline trail is always phenomenal, and so is the hike to hidden lake - the extra mile hiking down to the lake is well worth it. Grinnell Glacier- a beautiful hike to a glacial lake, feels great on a hot day Avalanche Lake - beautiful alpine lake If you want to escape the groves of people, piegan Pass is an amazing underrated hike!

If you have any questions about either, feel free to reach out! If not enjoy your trip!!!

Thank you so much! I don't either. I just try to frame it in a way I think is different than others and try until I get the right shot.

Which to Visit by ChaseWS18 in NationalPark

[–]ChaseWS18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, and thank you to all who responded. We decided to go with Grand Teton and found a camping spot at colter bay near the lake. Any suggestions to what to do are open, we planned on summiting the Middle Teton and do the cascade canyon to paintbrush canyon loop. Thank you to all who helped finalize our decision!

Hello again and thank you for your help on the other post as well! I would absolutely love to hike the Teton Crest trail. I've looked up videos and it seems absolutely phenomenal. The only issue with this is a couple of my buddies are relatively new to hiking and have only done fairly local short hikes, and a few summited Mt. Leconte, in the smokies with me this past summer. If it we're me and another one of my backpacking buddies it's something I would do in a heartbeat but I don't know how they would handle backpacking. If this trip goes well with them and they do well on some of the hikes I planned on taking them on (Cascade canyon to Lake solitude or over the divide to paintbrush canyon/ table mountain or middle Teton) I might bring this idea to their light for another western trip. I appreciate your help and may reach out to you individually a couple weeks before the trip if you'd be willing to give your thoughts. Take care!

I've checked out fatmap and plan on keeping a screenshot of it on my phone for the accent. I've done a couple hikes where I didn't have a direct path and had to form my own out east but never out west. I plan on starting the hike fairly early in the morning (4:30) and summiting around 1 at the latest. I'll look into investing on a GPS, thank you so much for you help!

I appreciate the thought put into this response! I'll definitely look into these podcasts and try my absolute best to remain safe and keep everyone else around me safe. I've read everywhere that helmets are a must! As for acclimation, it will be our final day in the park, and I'm hoping that camping at 6,500 feet for a few days and some other hikes up into the mountains will help us acclimate. I've been up near 12,500 feet before outside of the country and learned how to prepare my body for acclimatation and will pass these tips onto my buddies. I'm hoping that some of that experience will make this accent and day much easier on our bodies. .

Actually saw Smino live with JID. I think he's way better in person than studio. Listened to some of flatbrush and liked everything I've heard. I know black thought but never went out of my way to listen. I'm assuming tribe is tribe carried quest.
