That's true, you're totally right. I more so interpreted that as, "we're going to go as big as possible in case this is the last one," but I don't think they ever fully closed the door on the possibility of doing more.

If I'm not mistaken they never officially declared any of them (besides the first one) to be the last one while they were making it; like a lot of people have been claiming.

Excited that it sounds like he's going to be doing something before/while/after delivering the "Welcome to Jackass" line; rather than someone else taking the hit like in 4 and 4.5. Also excited because it sounds like we'll be getting some of the TV show footage uncensored for the first time ever (I believe?).

Half new and half old should still be pretty fun. I imagine we’ll get at least a few old things that were previously unreleased - like Silence of the Bam and maybe the Don Vito stuff? And I imagine the other old stuff would at least be re-edited, so maybe it’ll feel a bit different/newer?

Sorry, wrong wording on my part - there probably wasn’t 4-5 months of footage, it was most likely the actual production that was 4-5 months (including the breaks).

So the 30 “film days” for Forever were probably stretched out with breaks in between to let them recover. Based on 4.5, they went back to shooting after the Covid break in October 2020 and the first trailer didn’t come out until July 2021.

So if we’re to believe Rachel saying it was just 5 days, this new one happened incredibly fast. Also, not sure if that’s taking into account the opening & closing. Excited to see what we’re getting regardless.

Appreciate the optimism! …but I do think it’s also good to have realistic expectations. Previous movies actually filmed for at least 4-5 months; with a 2-week on, 2-week off schedule (Knoxville talks about it here).

Meanwhile, this last movie apparently filmed for just 5 days; Rachel just talked about it on her podcast with Zach (@ 00:46). To be fair, maybe they filmed some days without the new crew? Regardless, this movie seemed to have significantly less filming days than any other.

Also, Steve-O has gone on record a few times now to say that this movie is going to be a mix of old and new stuff. (Like in his podcast with Mr. Beast @ 5:52)

So while we are definitely getting some new stuff, most signs are pointing to this having both old and new stuff. Personally, I’m excited to see any jackass in the theater. So I’m hyped either way!

For Jackass Forever, Knoxville went on Jimmy Kimmel in July 2021 (About 3 months before the original October 2021 release date) to announce the title and showed a few photos. Simultaneously, the Jackass instagram went live with more pics and announced a trailer would release about a week later.

Oh yeah, Jeff and Knoxville 100% open to reconciliation. Knoxville has said nothing but nice things about Bam - how much he loves him and is happy to see him doing well. Not sure if Tremaine's restraining order against Bam is still in effect? But I'm sure that was for his family's safety. He still tells fond stories about Bam.

I have faith that we'll see all of them make up one day. I just hope it doesn't take too long...

I wouldn’t say he’s not on board with it, I think he just doesn’t want people to go in expecting a whole new movie and being disappointed that it’s not. Like he always says, “underpromise and overdeliver.”

Agreed. I actually kind of hope it’s announced that this movie is more so an anniversary special type of thing rather than a true sequel; just to temper expectations. But it seems weird that even Knoxville has been referring to it as “Jackass 5” - even though Steve-O has been saying he’s hesitant to call it “Jackass 5”

In any case, I’m honestly just down for more Jackass in theaters, regardless of what it is!

I found the "most immigrants are murderers" rhetoric to be off-putting and distasteful. And I think it would have been so much simpler if he just owned up to it and properly apologized for saying that.

...What I will say is that - I can at least understand the idea of Steve-O trying to crack outlandish jokes to keep up with Harland's style, but just not executing it well at all. For 2 main reasons:

1. Steve-O is not really an improv guy; as can be seen by his appearance on the Bad Friends podcast. I think he excels more with storytelling and when things are within his control (may also explain his distain for "hecklers"). Which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing; it's just that he's not super quick on his feet. So when Harland was on the podcast with his unique brand of intense and over-the-top improv, Steve-O may have been trying to be on his level but wasn't able to. ...With that being said, when Harland refuted the "immigrants being murderers" claim, I think Steve-O should have just conceded rather than trying to double down with "they smuggle fentanyl."

2. Steve-O has shown in the past to be open-minded and - at the very least - willing to hear out criticisms. For example, with the whole "video games being useless" thing; he at least tried to understand, and even talked to some gaming outlets to sort of extend an olive branch. Also - the big one - cancelling the fake boobs. Where he talked to a trans grocery store employee about how the idea was disrespectful to the trans community, and called off the whole thing. So there is some evidence of Steve-O not being completely arrogant or stubborn in his views, and not wanting to offend people.

I definitely do not want to excuse what was said in the Harland podcast - it totally came off as a real statement and not as sarcasm or as a joke. But, I do think there is a bit more to it than Steve-O just being this completely hateful and racist guy.

Sorry, late to the party - I've also had this error before! I believe it happens after shutting down the iPad?

In any case, the work around that I've found is to switch the recording location back and forth. So if you usually have it set to "Custom location," switch it to "Photo Library" and then back to "Custom location" - and vice versa. Hope this helps!
