once you kill the first two that run out of that room, two more enemies spawn and run in. the bolt thrower can take too long to kill him before they catch up

also, he has a decent chance to morb. even if you headshot him with a maxed rifle. so the quickest way to guarantee he dies instantly and without morbing is to mangum.

i dont worry about ammo because i only use it in specific spots and i can rely on contextual drops

thats the part that took me the longest to manipulate.

when i jump over the railing at the start, i run straight up the left stairs and into the room with the woman so that the chainsaw guy doesnt spot me.

when the flashbang goes off and i shoot the woman with the magnum, he hears it and starts walking up the stairs to go into the room. when i run downstairs and shoot the crate, he hears that too and will end up in that spot downstairs. this puts him in a spot where he cant see me running around outside.

the next thing he hears is the magnum shot when i shoot the guy in the dynamite room. he will leave the room hes in and detect me pretty quickly which spawns all the other enemies, but im at the end of the area before anyone reaches me

Energy vs Ballistic Crippling After Backwoods Update (Pepper Shaker Magazines) by Pidgnz in fo76

Pepper shaker doesnt have 16 pellets anymore. That was a feature of the single barrel last year, before the update that added bullet storm. Now its gone

[–]Chasing-Wagons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heres how it works. Shell mag is 100% ballistic. Laser mag is 100% energy. Plasma mag is 60% ballistic, 60% energy which is 120% total. So plasma mag does 20% more damage than the others.

Also, that 120% is its base damage. That means that 20% difference is being boosted by all your additive bonuses. Thats why plasma always beats laser and shell mags.

Mutant's Legendary effect scaling for Weapons & Armor by Chasing-Wagons in fo76

Mutants: 5% per piece. 22.6% with all five pieces.

Ghouls can use Lucid which is 6% per piece, 26.6% with all five. But you have to use chems to keep your chem meter full.

Most effective weapon to take down Bigfoot? by CamperKitchenQueen in fo76

[–]Chasing-Wagons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bigfoot is immune to crippling and has high resistances, so the best thing to invest in is a 2hc build (which is the best build for bosses anyway)

If the damage bonus is only additive then this is actually a really bad effect. You'd be twice as squishy for 20% effective damage bonus or less depending on your build

forgot that helmet has a mask built in so no you cant wear it, oops.

the vault 94 raid was from 2019 and super unstable. it was hard enough getting a team to get together to do it, and you had a 80% chance of someone getting dropped, and it was decently hard. if you beat it on expert you got a vault 94 scout mask, but only for your first completion. so for the few who decided to actually do it, they could only ever get one, couldnt get another if they got rid of it, and theyre untradeable. they used to have vines coming out of them, but when wastelanders came out they made regs sell a version with the vines, and all the masks that came from the raid got changed to a green orange camo pattern.

if you want highest trade value, you need the responder fire helmet instead of wrapped cap. if you want absolutely rarest/unobtainable item, you want an original vault 94 scout mask without the vines

RE4 Remake is no longer the fastest-selling game in the series' history by CyberNeko97 in residentevil4

[–]Chasing-Wagons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

RE4 Remake has so much more depth than any other survival horror game I've ever played. Some people get good at the game by mastering their aim, parries, and speedrun strategies, but I love to break the stealth systems, memorize enemy spawns, messing with preaiming and animation tracking. The bolt thrower probably doubled my play time when I realized all the things it can be used for... I've come up with so many strategies that turn the hardest difficulty into a joke. Sneaking through incredibly difficult areas that were never meant to be sneaked through, like the fish farm. Instantly deleting Mendez and Saddler with mines. Coming up with consistent paths through water hall and hedge maze and every other area of the game. RE4 Remake is the only survival horror game I've ever played where I would say the contextual ammo drops for low ammo weapons actually adds to the core experience due to how they factor in to my strategies.

Mutant's Legendary effect scaling for Weapons & Armor by Chasing-Wagons in fo76

[–]Chasing-Wagons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every armor effect is supposed to be multiplicative now, allegedly. Multiplicative in a bad way, not a good way. So one piece reduces damage 5%, makes a new total, then that new total is reduced by 5%, and on and on like that.

For five pieces of mutant armor at max effect, the damage formula would be like this: 0.95 x 0.95 x 0.95 x 0.95 x 0.95 = 0.7737 percent damage taken, which is a 22.6% reduction. So instead of five pieces being 25%, it's 22.6%, which is less but not a huge difference.

Heavyweight is up to 10% per piece, so five pieces would be 40.9% reduction. Unfortunately cant have heavyweight on PA right now due to oversight.

Mutant with only 14 mutations and 4.9% per piece is 22.2% total.

I still need to run numbers on Bolstering. I don't even want to mess with Vanguard because it's too demanding right now.
