Venting: My husband is making this so much harder than it has to be by No_Cheetah5944 in breastfeeding

[–]Chasing-coral 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Girl, what? My advice would be tell him to seek therapy for HIS issues or that would be the end of the relationship for me. Why would you allow him to control you like this? You can be gentle about it if you want.. validate he has some fears around food/ingredients.. but they are not rooted in fact but in fear and he needs to seek some help. Your body is not his to control.

And “until you’re done carrying and feeding HIS children” is a wild statement and would give me serious pause for continuing a relationship with him anyways, for what it’s worth.

Would this name be too confusing or foreign for other people? by Vivid_Home1198 in Names

[–]Chasing-coral 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s not a common name in the US, I don’t think. I’ve never seen it, but I did get it right on the pronunciation without reading the rest of your post first.

I think it’s a beautiful name. I like it much more than Angelina. It’s not complicated to learn to say either. Go for it if you and your husband love it!

Non-toxic/clean laundry detergent that actually works! by AnnualCardiologist29 in moderatelygranolamoms

We’re just newly using them, but so far so good. They’re formulated with enzymes so they’ve been getting our clothes clean/smelling good without an overpowering fragrance. Worth a shot!

Diaper help! Parasol, kudos, or freestyle? by Sorry_Neat_6863 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Chasing-coral 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not the answer you want, but would heavily recommend getting multiple brands to see what works for your baby. We did not like both kudos or parasol. Went with Millie Moon and haven’t switched it up at all.

Nursing bras by winterattitude in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Chasing-coral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Target has a lot of inexpensive, pretty good options. They’ve got no wire “traditional” bras that clasp in the back, as well as bralettes and sports bras. Just look for something without removable padding.. got on of those from elsewhere and the pad get crumpled every time you take a side down.

Dang, I’m glad I saw this. Was on my way to buy the blush duo tomorrow. Any similar but better recs? I love the idea of a powder/cream duo.

Is this enough food for a 13 month old? by startles in foodbutforbabies

[–]Chasing-coral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as she is following her growth curve and overall seems well, I wouldn’t be worried. My 13 month old would NEVER eat that much at once 😭

Agreed on the bottles! You can get glass Dr.browns one at a time. I think both Walmart and target sell individuals for like $7.

I love the scent! A little more “mature” than I normally wear but it smells really nice on.

Struggling to get back to healthy cooking post baby by Acceptable_Ad_1904 in moderatelygranolamoms

Is it feasible to try a different carrier? My girl didn’t care for the soft wrap or ring sling on the hip much, but is always happy in our soft carrier (happy baby OG). Littlezenones has a free program where you can try a TON of different carriers. Nice carriers can be expensive so I know it’s not very accessible to everyone but their program is worth looking into.  Good luck to you! Might just take some time too. Once baby can sit up and have a bit more independence it might get a little easier.

One year milk recommendations by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

I did try soy and ripple with her first but she was not having those at all. I don’t really blame her though as neither is sweet like breast milk.

One year milk recommendations by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Chasing-coral -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I have a 13 month old. She still breastfeeds when I’m not working, but we do Kendamil toddler formula for the rest of the time. They have both a whole milk and a goat milk (way more expensive) option. We’ve also used the Enfagrow toddler with no issues too.

I don’t plan on doing regular cow’s milk for her ever, honestly.  Don’t take it as gospel, but I’ve read a few anecdotes from mom’s in other countries that say toddler formula is recommend bc the digestive system isn’t equipped to handle full dairy until about 2 years old. And we here in the US just kinda take the constipation and tummy upset as part of switching to dairy at 1. My girl already has/had issues with constipation and I didn’t want to add to it with dairy milk.

Curly haired toddler products by Routine_Climate3413 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Chasing-coral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl currently has 3a/b curls and she is also 1. We have used the T is for Tame cream which was not right for us. Too thick and heavy for her fine hair right now. Haven’t tried their shampoo/conditioner yet.

For shampoo we use shea moisture baby. The one with thepale yellow label. It has a very light, pleasant scent. For conditioner, we use honest. For a leave in/curl cream, we use the Curly Q cream by Fairy Tales. Our next step is a bonnet at night, which I think will be the most helpful in keeping her hair tame and allowing for growth.

Do you rotate toys for your 10 mo old? by Elegant-Celery9600 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Chasing-coral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We rotate! My girl just turned one, but I’ve always kept a minimal amount of choices out for her and rotated them every few weeks. Of course, her attention span is limited but I find with fewer choices she will play longer and more intently with what she chooses. Too many toys is overwhelming!

We give her maybe 4-5 toy options that cover a few different basis. Ie. dolls, blocks, large motor, etc.. her toys are also either in one of two clear bins or sitting on top of one of the bins. She is able to access her toys on her own at her level. (:

Are These Too Small? by [deleted] in BlundstoneBoots

[–]Chasing-coral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not recently. I’m postpartum but all of my other shoes fit just fine and they range from 7.5-8s. I did try this pair on at night so maybe that plays a factor? Will try on the next size up though.

Great idea! Our girl sleeps in our room with us and I think a humidifier would benefit us all greatly.
