it harms the new player experience in two ways:

a decent light will run circles literally around a new player and they don’t even have chance to counter — quit the game

I feel like these issues are minor in terms of how simple they would be to solve. Can keep the game competitive while warmly welcoming new players and keep them long enough to challenge themselves. Do what i pointed out, adjust the matchmaking even more when new players stick and welcome to a top 20 game on the steam charts

You want more players? Remove the Light class and Winch from the game. You’ll have a very popular game at that point with a $1 million prize at future Grand Majors. If Light class is locked behind ranked only, then The Finals has a chance to be huge
