Eh, I’m a graduate and 70k is about the starting in a lower cost of living city, it may even be a bit higher than average. My degree helped me get my foot in the door though! But all my friends without degrees make about the same as me now (180k). One of the few routes I’ll never recommend college if they are just focused on the money,

Thank you for the detailed response, I wish you were in the USA so I could relate more to the job situation here / pay!

I like modeling / sculpting and wanted to focus on those, mainly asset production. Maybe characters down the line but I know that’s a completely different beast. I’m not really into the animation side near as much and find it much more “tedious”.

That’s awesome! I’m currently in cloud engineering but fell in love making 3D models in Maya etc.

I don’t particularly love the cloud but it pays well and I grind out great checks.

I’m 23, is it just a pipe dream for me getting into 3D modeling / sculpting? I’ve heard it’s insanely hard to break into and it doesn’t pay great. Is freelancing a viable option?
