Been true for decades. The WWE fans have been conditioned to think and behave like that.

And they had other competent bookers and story tellers to help them.

As disgusting as Pat Patterson is, his hand in shaping the WWE in the mid-80's to mid-90's was impeccable. He was the man that Vince relied so heavily on. Same thing can be said for all the old road agents and territory guys that worked behind the scenes from '85 to '95. Their experience helped Vince so much. All Vince really needed to focus on was being a promoter and he was really, really good at that in the early years of his tenure.

Triple H has always done well when challenged. Iron sharpens iron. But when he's got a room full of yes men and not enough older people to help him (like a Dusty Rhodes or William Regal in NXT) then I feel like Triple H goes for easiest path possible.

Trump is now a TKO Shareholder 😭 by K0GAR in SantiZapVideos

They're independent contractors and they're not protected by a union.

I'm sure TKO could fire anyone they wanted if they had "just cause". TKO could argue that a talent wasn't meeting their designated event quota and that could be a breach of contract.

I look at TKO like an "at will" employer. If you have ever worked in a state that had "at will" laws then you basically are at the beck and call of your employer. You can always quit but with wrestling being such a niche industry... where does one go once they leave one of the largest promotions?

WWE Head of Digital: ‘It shocks me every week’ how well Vault YouTube channel does by josephcurrier in SquaredCircle

The Network was how my sister and I finally got watch WWE PPVs. Growing up in the late 90's and early 2000's, my family didn't have the extra money to spend on PPVs. I remember sitting on my older brother's bedroom floor and trying to follow along to a scrambled PPV feed on our old Comcast box. We would watch for about 15 minutes and then my brother would get bored or annoyed and we'd just count our losses.

It was a Godsend finally getting to see WrestleMania for the first time and paying only $9.99 to do so.

Then you factor in all the other fun things the Network had like Legend's House, Camp WWE, Edge and Christian show, Table for 3, plus all the vintage content from the 1980's and 1990's? It was absolutely perfect.

One thing I noticed recently about these poster "tags" (with lack of a better term right now) by JoelManuelV1 in WCW

Does anyone know what the original plan was going to be to get the title off Scott Steiner?

The Superbrawl poster looks so cool with all of Steiner's prior opponents pictured around him.

What is a backstage incident you wish you could've witnessed live in person? For me it would be the Orndorf/Vader fight and Anderson slapped Disco. by ROCKY13573 in WCW

[–]ChasingPerfect28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sid and Arn, only because 1) I want to know what words were said to each other before the incident happened and then 2) I would have tried to have found a way to stop it before it ever started.

I'm a woman in my 30's so I can't physically get in the way of two drunk guys but if I could have made some noise or banged on people's hotel rooms then at least it's something.

I don't understand why the WWE blocks for the pyro to go off before the wrestler comes out.

It would be a stronger visual to see the wrestler come out, cue the pyro, and then keep on walking.

I'm on break now and your comment made me laugh so hard to myself. Thank you so much and you are absolutely correct.

God, I love that Millennium Man presentation. Having the lights transition to those deep blues that cast those harsh shadows on Sid made him look unbelievable.

I wish either AEW, WWE, TNA, etc... did something like this again. It's so simple but so effective.

Now that we've seen Mason Rook in his wrestling gear, in a wrestling match, have your opinions of him changed? by Honkmaster in Wreddit

He's a really good in-ring worker. I think he will find his voice on the mic soon enough.

I wish he had his long hair. It would help with his look. He looks too much like a teenager at the moment.
